If I was going to recommend one game, it would be Alex Kidd. Not because it is an obnoxiously great game, but that the variety within a platformer game from the 8 bit era is something to behold. And for 3 bucks, why not.

heyo my friend, if you want to play online at all, go with part 2 AA. otherwise either one is really cool to be honest. The price is right for both games and when part 2 came out we played online on a stream, it was a lot of fun.

4:01 there seems to be a market for "souls like" games. I get making games a bit tougher, but don't devs consider how many games don't sell because of the difficulty? I've passed on tens of games as soon as "souls like" comes outta the narrators mouth. and they insist on "souls like" instead of "stupidly difficult". why can't they make the game as difficult as intended, but include an easy difficulty option, but you lose things. like you don't get the true ending. you don't get access to certain weapons or costumes. maybe the game is 10-15% shorter. anything to give more of us options and more money in the devs pockets.

I agree that making a game more accessible to everyone is always going to be the more lucrative option, it does seem strange to tell a large portion of the customer base that they just need to "get good' or play something else lol. thanks my friend!

I understand why people enjoy them, but I just don't have the time to put in to learn difficult games. The main thing I don't like about the "souls-like" genre is that anytime any game is difficult, it gets compared to Dark Souls. People act like Dark/Demon Souls invented difficult games when we've been playing intentionally difficult games every since gaming was a thing. It's like people forget that developers would make a game difficult so you couldn't beat it during a weekend rental, but once you knew all the tricks of the game, you could get through it in 45 minutes.
