I"m in SW Pa and the past 2 days have been awesome with lots of nice bucks moving into the food plot early in the evening. I killed a mid 130 class 10pt this evening at 5:45 that came into the plot to feed and was covered up with deer and stuck in the blind until dark watching several nice bucks feeding.

Retired, taking last week October and first 2 weeks of November, no need to hunt early cold fronts. Hunt out of state (Nebraska) live in Missouri,have 5 farms all to myself from wife’s family. Life is good 🏹🏹🦌🦌

My deer have gone AWOL the past few weeks ever since the acorns fell. I have a 3 acre parcel that backs up to great bedding and white oak trees. All I can do is let this food plot grow until those acorns dry up. In the meantime, I’m hunting public oak trees!

I hate the cold while I'm working cause im outside alot but i love it for the deer movement! I hung a camera Sunday and have had 2 different does and i big 2 yr old using the exact same bed for the last 3 days! They been sharing it!? And to beat it all they are laying right below the vine i hung and and in the bare spot i made! Wildest pictures ever! To be able to see that behavior is priceless to a hunter! Sometimes the buck lays out with his head on the ground like a s dog and sometimes its laying over on his side and his eyes are closed! Pretty cool stuff i thought i would share! Good video Jeff and i knew you had one coming after seeing the weather!!!!😂

30 degree temperature drop from friday to monday here in indiana, supposed to be 20+mph winds sunday as well before a 17 degree drop. Looking forward to monday-wednesday this week. Just hope i can keep the foxes and coyotes at bay and get a buck.

Better days are coming! I land in Madison from my home in AZ on October 18 and will be at my hunting property in SW WI on the 19th. I will be there until November 17. Im looking forward to getting really serious about hunting bucks October 29-November 6. There will be good days leading up to this date range and after, but the 29th through the 6th are primo in SW WI! I live in Michigan. Can’t hunt the cold fronts because all the deer are dead. EHD has completely demolished the herd. We have found over 200 dead deer in a 5 mile radius of my house. Friends and I have explored 4 different state game areas as well. All we found was death everywhere. No deer sign whatsoever. If you do see a deer alive it’s always a yearling. It’s a sad sad deal

I’ve been trying to hit the drops in temp. But how about when it drops for several days in a row? How do you pick the best day? My days in the up this weekend are Friday 73, Saturday 58, Sunday rain and 50, Monday is 48

Definitely...but keep in mind they don't go out of their way for water too far. They are used to enhance a movement...not necessarily attract the movement. Buck cruising areas and near bedding areas are always great spots!

So if I have Monday - Wed to hunt in Southeast Pa.....Monday is the very first day of the cold front with 15 mph winds and lower pressure.....do I skip that day and hunt Tues and Wed when even colder and less wind with pressure above 30? or is it best to be there the first day of the front? Hey Jeff, another great insightful video thank you. But I was looking at the Huntcast for Monday and Tuesday, and for my area (Midwest Michigan) it shows a very low probability of deer movement. Why do you think it would show that even with the 20°+ temp drop & whatnot??

Good question....but the answer all depends on what your setup is....if you are hunting a field edge then definitely NOT the morning! You will blow them off the field. If hunting a spot they travel thru then that would all depend on your access and if they are going to hear you. The leaves are super crunchy where I am and I am not willing to bump the bucks off their am beds. So I am gonna wait till the wind picks up a little later in the day and play the wind to get to my stand. Then park my ass there for about 7 hours!
