They definitely are. Red rocks fall on the opposite side from the dwarf position he was mining the new salt pits stone.

The rocks seems to fall on the opposite side of your mining direction. And also if u havent done so allready try out full mining turrets converted to plasma., its rly effective. Edit: ohh you got it! :-)
