I’m 70 and I was given an Ojo de Venado and placed it on my daughters receiving blanket near the top of her head, it went wherever she went, I passed it to my daughter who used it the same way on my grandson who will be 21 this year. ❤❤

Thank you for nice video! Here (in Slovakia and Central Europe, and I think also in other European countries) we also do this "thing" for babies to be protected from being ill because of the bad sight/gaze. But we believe that red colour in general protects, like taking the gaze in itself instead of on the baby. So we are trying to keep something red around the babies or on them (most often the red ribbon tied on the babies wrist or on the carriage, clothes with red, possibly some toy, ...).

We do this in Spain too 🧿 I could never pin my baby’s azabache, he kept trying to rip it off or would cry when he felt it on his back 😂 still have his and mine from my childhood

Merry Christmas!!🎉🎉🎉 I think it's mainly Latin Catholics who use those baby charms, I've also seen them used in Louisiana, a Saint's metal or hand embellished scapular not only for babies but also for the sick, elderly or interestingly for brides... but my Hawaiian relatives used to pin a charm on the baby's clothing as protection (mostly against jealousy, which is a particularly potent negative energy).
