I have to say it when I see it because that's how I was trained. You should ensure two attachment points at all times especially on SRT. A prusik loop above your ascender in the unlikely event your ascender fails will ensure you are still anchored to your lifeline. ~ Nice Samson.

I’ve heard of the taz love. I’ll have to check it out. Yes that is good practice. I often have a cord from ascender to my harness also. Didn’t this time but try keep the rope tight as I’m usually ascending the rope rather than climbing

Gido I use to do this exact kind of thing back home in Haiku, Maui. I had a fishing kite rig paired with a boat rod and a huge Daiwa conventional real. Went from the rod to the kite, from the kite a down line to a float and a trolling line with a lure, or live bait at the end. Use to prefer the cliffs like this because it would get deep fast and your kite wouldn't have to go far before it was trolling for game fish.

Great Day of Fishing it looks like from here (Southeast Texas)… The big fish you caught looks similar to our Amberjack, which I Love to Catch and Eat. The bright Red fish towards the end looked an awful lot like our Strawberry Grouper very Beautiful and Tasty caught in Texas offshore waters.
