Rein’s Notes: I like to do two crimps side by side on electrical connectors. I use those shrink tube ones with sealant inside whenever possible if I can afford them (for outside stuff). That split corrugated protective tubing is called wire loom. I would fashion that steel rod loop into a large overhead crook and attach a length of small rope to hold the wires out of the way. Then you can experiment with length of rope adjustment to best hold the wire and cable so the chute can move freely but they don’t rub back and forth through the circle they’re going through currently. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it! 😂 That blower is one scary looking beast! Keep up the great work, one step at a time. Now, of course, we won’t get enough snow this year to see it in action because you scared Mother Nature off. 😉👍

Yea, I like that loom stuff. I used to wire (avionics) foe Grumman Aerospace and for many years in HVAC control systems. We would use waxed flat rope to tie off wire bundles.. Its still used today. Everything is laying nice now and should work well. Those connectors are simple. I still have some MIL spec versions that are much better but this is a lawnmower lol They were never that good..Sometimes I double crimp..Not a great idea tho, it can distort the barrel to the point where is fails anyway. They don't all fail. That tells me its not the wire, the tool, eventually I will use them up.

Right, not sure why the other shoe isnt done.. In my travels I will repeat the process. My Toro 826 is like this from the factory with very heavy steel shoes!
