In my view Jos Verstappen wants to oust Horner and take over as Red Bull team principle, which might account for his dislike of Christian Horner and be the reason for him still stirring up trouble within the team. Looking at the reactions here, I wonder if people are really that ignorant. As if Jos ever says anything publicly that hasn’t been approved by the entire Verstappen team. Max, Jos and manager Raymond Vermeulen, aka Team Verstappen, together run a huge business. Jos is the only one of the three not bound by a contract to Red Bull and therefore the only one able to speak freely. Team Verstappen have already said that Horner’s behaviour against a female employee and how that was handled was a risk to the unity in the team. The woman was also Adrian Newey’s assistant and he already jumped ship. Then there was Horner’s attempt to buy the team and become owner with some investors. Jos and Max have in common that they both don’t give a toss about what people think of them. Their focus is on getting the best car and best people around the development and running of the car. It’s clear that, in their view, Horner is not necessarily a part of that.

Looking at this reply, I am astonished at how blinkered it is. Firstly, although Jos is able to speak freely, @Bladel65 appears to have overlooked Jos Verstappen's history of violence against women - which is well documented. So for JV to call Horner out on that alone is the epitome of hypocrisy. Secondly, in the case of who the alleged Horner female 'victim' was - it is 100% untrue that she was AN's assistant. Face facts: Jos Verstappen is clinging on to his remarkable Son's success in order to stay in the limelight, having failed spectacularly in his own career. Troublemaker.

In the other case, where a woman accused him of physical abuse, he was acquitted. That's all many years ago and the parties involved have made up and are on speaking terms today. The information that Horner's victim was the personal assistant to both Newey and Horner came from F1 journalist Mark Hughes. I assume he knows the F1 world better than you. Jos Verstappen is clinging to his son as much has his son to him. That’s family. His son has been clear on multiple occasions that Jos has been the most important person in the way to that success. Jos Verstappen is the first to acknowledge that his son has more talent than he had and his experience in F1 paved the way for Max to shine in F1 from a young age. Even with that, Jos actually had quite a good F1 career. Apart from a couple of races stepping in for JJ Letho at Benetton, he never had a competitive car. However if you would compare his career taking in account the current point system, he did quite well. He would, like his son, shine when circumstances were difficult. In this era he's performing well as a rally car driver and still winning races. But all that has nothing to do with this video and many of the reactions. People who call on Max to ban his father from the track are ignorant. Especially when they think Jos talks without anyone else in Team Verstappen being aware of the message.
