The yellow and black birds are probably a Goldfinch. The red one is a cardinal. At my house in the Bay Area we have house finches, the males have a red head and chest. Have a great weekend and Happy Birthday Wyatt.

I just found this year a way to stop the birds from attacking the tomatoes. Put a bird bath in the garden. It was explained to me that the birds are thirsty so they pick at the tomatoes . So far so good. 😊

So have y'all heard of the BLACKLIGHT TRICK for HORNWORMS? It is so Fun, especially for kids. Get a blacklight FLASHLIGHT and hunt the hornworms at dark. They GLOW BRIGHTLY, making they fun & easy to pick off. Chickens will love them. 🐛🐛🐛🔦🔦🔦😊

Put the birdhouses on poles (not wooden ones, the cats will climb them). Place them far away from the garden because the cats will jump from the fence to catch the birds in mid flight.

One thing to keep in mind, is that hot peppers can cross breed with sweet/bell peppers. The bell peppers can't get hot, they don't have capsicum which hot ones do. However hot peppers can have a tendency to turn sweet if they are planted to close together with sweet peppers.

In the old days they had a way to keep pesky mice from walking on the tie down ropes and getting onto sailing ships......so can you do something like that to help keep the curious cats at a distance away from the bird houses? Maybe the easiest and fastest way is to put several upright nails on top of the boards to deter them from getting on top or walking on the boards like you see how they keep pigeons off of things. Just a suggestion to help. The only bird that I know of in the wild that's yellow would be a ""Finch"". That type of bird usually is a smaller variety compared to other birds. How mature and responsible it was that young Wyatt actually saved his money for something he wanted. Shows how well you have raised your son! Looking forward to his birthday video!!! When I was growing my garden as a youngster I found that anything growing by itself seemed stronger and did better than what I had actually planted. Go figure! Adaptability might be the solution. The Red Birds are called Red Cardinals. The Yellow and black ones are called Chickadees. You can actually do a print out of birds local to your area, so long as you have a color printer. That will tell you there names and what attracts them.

Have you consider berries: blueberry love acid/clay soil but not a raised bed. Those worms on your tomatoes the birds are on your plants picking them off. I’ve planted a garden for past 40 years and every September I get an intestinal issue, the doctor said “wash your tomatoes before eating them.”

What i do is use cayenne pepper dust and sprinkle it over my entire garden right on top of the plants and it keeps everything out. Even the bugs hate it but make sure you wear gloves and maybe even a mask and wash your veggies off before eating them.

Tomatillo's shell will open up and dry out when they are ripe. The birds are probably on their way home since they fly south for Winter. There would be less bugs if you would clean all the grass out.
@user-uo6tp4cx8bАй бұрын
If the yellow and black bird is good sized it is a Baltimore oriole. If it is small it is a gold finch. The orioles like grape jelly and oranges you can also put out feeders much like hummingbird feeders.
