Fun fact; Riley Sager is the pen name for male author Todd Ritter. Its ben theorized that he chose a gender neutra name for his line of thriller books because those sell the best right now in that genre.

Fourth wing is really hyped up for sure. I read it, because dragons, hello. I thought it was ok. It was enjoyable but don't really understand why all this hype. It's a very common story, no surprises. Can't wait to see what you think about it. Not sure you will like it... Fireborne is really good. Really enjoyed the last namsara too but dragons are less present in this series

The Wolf and the whole Under The Northern Sky trilogy is really good. The author’s background in anthropology is put to great use as he introduces us to the different people groups and their cultures. It’s smart with very well-developed characters.

Related to book hauls in general, I have a question for our bookish community to those willing to answer. How much do you spend on books each month? Also, no shaming whether it's $0 cause someone is all library or $500+ cause someone wants a huge personal library!! I'm just curious. I've recently started buying physical books again so I've been on a bit of a binge buying spree lol so I think I'm at about $100-125/mo? As I build up a physical TBR though I might taper off a bit... maybe... or not.
@ICaughtTheSnitch26 Жыл бұрын
Oof. A lot 😅 I definitely spend a lot. I have quite a bit of disposable income and don't buy anything for myself except book though. A few hundred given all the special editions out there and new releases.
@Rachlemm Жыл бұрын
For me it depends but I’d say roughly $40, and there’s a month or two when I don’t buy any at all because I’m trying to read what I already have or get cheap ebooks. I personally don’t want to spend over $20 on a book because I consider that to be a lot, but I know it’s more than that when it’s a recently released book. I use PangoBooks a lot for used & some new books. I like to keep an eye on some retailers and check if the sales are worth it before giving in.
@happyfamily1298 Жыл бұрын
I predominantly use our fantastic library system. I may purchase $25-50 a month on physical books every 2-3 months, both because of budget and also space. These days I try to purchase those books I suspect will be keepers (Tress, Wishing Game, etc.). I read and listen/read to 20-50 books a month, so I’m thankful for the library 😂
@sascha7476 Жыл бұрын
I try to buy most of my books second hand, so i will probably buy only 1 new book a month. I think I am around the €20 a month
@ellyra412 Жыл бұрын
It really depends on the month. There are some month where I only spend between 25-35$ and there are others when I am over 100$ because of special editions. Special editions will be my ruin

The wishing game was really sweet - and brought a few tears because it's so sweet. I really liked The House Witch series however it's a little bit wordy - I feel like the books could have been a bit shorter like she was challenged to write 10,000 words a day and she used all of the words. 🙃
