I’m pretty sure the birds and flowers and the ladle is vintage Home co / Home interiors from the 70/80s the ladle used to be yellow color, my mom used to have these pieces , I looked them up on google and I was right they are Home Co pieces , the birds and flowers plaques did say they were from 1967 man great finds brought back childhood memories

What a great haul❤ the gold floral and bird 3 piece set reminds me of Home Interiors in the late 1970s. That large vase you could always use it as a candle holder ☺️

First of all, copper is warm, so think of a deep reddish brown. The container is likely copper, and the feet and finials are probably brass. I used to think that brass was a bit crass, as it is so sharp and shinier. The wall decor of the flowers and birds and the hanging "shell" is Home Interior, which makes me laugh because I sold Home Interior, and I haven't got one piece of Home Co decor left in my house. I think I got burnt out on it. I used to have fun selling it though, because unlike most dealers, I would encourage people to buy items to add to or enhance their decor, rather than buy everything from me and throw all your stuff out. I know all dealers weren't like that, but some definitely were. I had a different approach and still felt successful. I didn't get any mink key chains or planner covers etc. 🤣But I met a lot of neat people and had fun. It was hard work and I had to quit because I was working full time at another job and they were requiring overtime, plus weekends, and that pay was lots better. 😏 BTW, the little cat is a ring holder. You hang your rings on the tail. And, yes, it is likely that several different people do the marking of items at SA. I worked in a thrift store and was in charge of the men's department. I used to garage sale a lot and had a real good idea of pricing and also knew what items were "hot" and would price a bit higher. I had about 5 girls in my department, and we would try to stay within the same range of pricing. I would check the items after they were marked and on the floor. Partly to keep them neat and organized and also to pull any item that I felt was over prices or also, underpriced or damaged etc. I would also just do a brief look around and if I noticed other items that I knew were marked too high, I would pull the item and bring to the supervisor of the department. It was a fun job, but the pay wasn't enough, and I moved on to a different job entirely. This thrift store was average size. Some of the Goodwill and SA stores are huge and would require a lot of help. I also think some of the SA employees may sometimes be people who require assistance, and the SA helps them.

That makes sense! I’ll remember that next time I’m confused about copper/brass. I had someone else tell me that they looked like home interiors lol, my Mom actually sold it to when I was growing up and she said she is tired of it and won’t decorate her house that way now 😂. I love the cat as a ring holder! I definitely want to try him for that now. I kind of thought that there were multiple people making the prices, there is too much of a variance for there not to be. How cool to work in a thrift store! My Granny did to for a while and said she was always busy. I would have trouble not buying everything 😂. Thank you for the information and the kind comment! 🥰

The 3 piece set I'm pretty sure, are dogwood tree branches with the male & female cardinals. I'm originally born & raised in NC, that is the state flower & state bird! I'm not sure where you're located, but I bet the set came from somewhere in NC.😊 I love the hanging piece, very pretty! Personally, I would probably go over the green & red with antique gold rub & buff, that would be beautiful! Or at least the red. I would put a little birds nest with a little bird, maybe a hanging piece of greenery under the nest, or even the greenery alone.. either would be pretty. I just happen to have a small collection of birds nest😉 On I love the octagon shaped pieces! I love anything Victorian.. those are right up my alley😁 They could be nice pieces, so you know i would google lens those😄 The colors are pretty. Almost sure that's A brass piece with the lion heads, just a little planter. I have quite a collection of brass. Some are thinner & light weight, and some are a little heavier. Sometimes the thinner brass can look like copper. Unusually, not always, if it has the lion heads more than likely its brass. I know the heads & feet are definitely brass! The lighting is just A little dark, that's why i say "almost" sure! Copper will have a more orangey color. Yay..did you use the google Lens😄 Can you tell I'm dead set about that little tool?!😄 Anyways, hope that helps, in the future as well! Girl that's the fun of thrifting & collectioning.. you have lots of options!! The larger candle stand can also be used as a riser! I have a few.. wood & brass. I had a pretty cut glass bowl on one. I had one off my birds nest on a wooden one still has the little fuffy feathers & bits of blue eggs in it😊 Also they're pretty with the candle wreaths & big battery candles, i have the little pip berry wreath on one. Just A couple ideas🤷‍♀️ I love to get different ideas & love to share them! A little bird cage looks precious on top too! (I was trying to remember some things i had done with some of mine!) Yesss girl..50¢ Is always a good day😁 You can also sit the kitty on your nightstand to hold your rings! I love little animals too! Small pieces are good for filling in, tuck them in to add that extra something. The straw pieces look like the could be wisk brooms.. the old ones are very collectable & so sat very expensive. Usually hung on peg racks. Those may not be Wisk brooms, they are newer pieces. But I would age them to look like a wisk broom😉 The tall pitcher is really pretty! Oh girl i love me some doilies, in all the sizes & shapes!! (You said it right the first time.) And the more stained the better! If they're white then I just tea stain them😁 I love putting them everywhere!! There just beautiful, especially hand made ones or ones that have handstitching on them. You can Also use the large clear vase over a candle or candlestick w/candle, or like a cloche. The Japan saucers are possibly vintage.. search it! Great finds, some really pretty pieces! Oh how cool to know! I live in Arkansas so I am a pretty good ways from NC :). I love anything Victorian as well! I have actually been using the google lens like you suggested and I found out that the brass/copper planter with the lions head is selling online for about $40! So getting it for $1 is so awesome. I love the idea of adding a birds nest or something similar, I will have to keep my eye out for something when I am doing more shopping. I actually have a bird cage saved online for stuff I want to buy! I love bird cages. I love all the ideas you share, please keep them coming! I love the idea of using the cat for my jewelry, what a cute idea! I will google lens those straw pieces to see what it brings up :). I love the doilies so much, every time I seen them I think of my Granny, she passed a couple of years ago and I got my love of antiques from her. I definitely want to try the candle in the vase idea!
