You did a number on your clean out! I'm so excited you came up with the solution you did. It's an amazing idea. Can't wait to see everything on your poshmark. 😄❤

Hahaha I had to be in such a savage mindset to get rid of that much 😂 I get way too connected to clothing. But I did well 👏🏼❤️

Hi gorgeous, I’m so excited to go on posh mark and see what I can purchase. I think it’s an awesome idea. I have a charity that’s very close to my heart and that’s Autism Spectrum Australia. My son has autism and goes to an aspect school that’s not funded by the government need all the funding they can get for these special children. I’m a single mum and the school it’s quite expensive because it’s not funded the government and they’re always needing more equipment and things for the schools. The teachers are amazing and do such an amazing job with my son and all the other children. Thank you for giving to charity ♥️

Ooohhh this is awesome Erin 👏 Great charity that you’ve chosen as your first one. Can I suggest Destiny Rescue for a future charity! Lol your shoe organisation is the same as mine and now I don’t feel as bad 😂😂 but finding good shoe storage is hard!

Just did some research on Destiny Rescue! What a great organisation. I’ll definitely keep this in mind for a future charity, thank you lovely! Also, glad you can relate regarding the shoes hahaha it is SO hard to find shoe storage! Half the time I feel like the storage itself takes up more space than the actual shoes do anyway 😂

Erin I have followed you for so long and I've loved your content, but this video really doesn't sit right with me. The sentiment is great and I love the charity you picked, but if you have been gifted clothes then 100% of the proceeds (excluding shipping costs) should go to the charity. You are still making a 40% profit, which means earning income from items gifted to you for free. Please think again about this and the impression of you this creates. I hope you learn and grow and I hope to be able to follow you again in the future

Hey Becca! There is a much bigger picture to this entire situation, and I really hope that you can hear me out and try to understand. For starters, Poshmark take 20% of all sales over $15. Therefore, 60% is going to charity, and 20% is going to Poshmark. Which leaves 20% to me. A lot of clothes in my wardrobe, are clothes I have purchased myself. Some are clothes that I was gifted, in exchange for content that I’ve produced for free. Unfortunately, free clothes don’t pay my bills. And if your employer decided to pay you in free clothes, rather than money, I’m sure you’d be finding yourself in a similar situation. Granted, I do some collaborations with brands on a paid basis, however this makes up for maybe 20% of what is in my wardrobe. And, mind you, the clothes are generally used as a form of partial payment for the collaboration. So again, imagine your employer said “I’ll pay you 70% in wages, and 30% in free clothes”. Besides all of that, not that I need to publicise this at all, but for the sake of this conversation, I think it’s a valid point to make. I donate bags of clothes, and boxes of makeup on a regular basis to charities. I’ve been turned away many times, because they are at full capacity and don’t have room for more donations. This leaves me with not much else to do, other than sell the clothes at a heavily discounted price, to my followers and the public. It’s the most sustainable option, reduces waste, and allows me to still contribute to charities in a way that’s way more valuable to them. The 20% that I take home, is to cover the time it takes to photograph and list each item, package it up (postage bags are also an expense that comes out of my wallet), print the shipping label, deliver it to the shipping company and communicate with the buyer. And also for my time over the past 6-7 years, building up a platform and creating content for my followers, for free. All in all, the money that I end up taking home from these sales, is barely anything. I’ve thought long and hard about the impression that this is creating of myself. And I’m bloody proud of the person I am today, and the things I’ve done for charities and to give back to the community. I’m in an industry that is incredibly shallow and materialistic, and I make it my purpose every single day to stand out from those that give this industry ‘a bad rep’. I’m more than happy to stand by my decision with this, and I really do encourage you to try and understand the bigger picture 🤍🤍
