I got some of those cheap LED panels for my workshop lights upgrade and it has made a huge difference! Fitted easily using wooden frames made from scrap 2x4s!👇 Links to tools/materials below👇

BUILD PROCESS
I started with a couple of old left over 2x4's which were cross cut to 700mm long, and then ripped into 20mm strips on the table saw. This was a very long, repetitive process as I was fitting 6 lights, so needed 24 of these in total!
A dado was then cut into each piece with 3 passes on the table saw followed by a quick clean up using a chisel. This dado will except the LED panels and hold them in place once fixed to the ceiling.
All of the show faces were then sanded to 120 grit by clamping the pieces together and sanding as one large panel. This is not perfect but plenty good enough for a workshop project.
One end of each strip was then cut to 45 degrees on the mitre saw. The final length was measured and a stop block set in place before all the strips were cut to their final size with the opposite mitre.
Some 20mm holes were drilled into some of the strips to except some plastic conduit for the wiring. A forstner bit was used for this.
Three sides of each fixture were glued together and then brad nailed to keep them aligned while they dried. The last side was screwed into place as it needs to be removable in order to fit/change the LED panels once fitted to the ceiling.
I need some small 90 degree fixings and all I had to hand were Z-clips so I flattened out one side of these using a hammer in the bench vice. These were then fitted to the finished mounts using the workbench to ensure everything would sit flush when done.
At this point all the panels were done so were mounted onto the ceiling before having their transformers mounted and being wired up.
Then the moment of truth… Let there be light!
