Its funny, I was playing this past Sunday, struggling with the driver, and my buddy says, "you need to imagine a 15 degree angle from the inside and swing towards right field through impact...I always knew I had to swing from the inside, but this little tip really helped me visualize it...Great video

Agree with what you are saying 100 percent. However the way I initiate my 'outward' back swing is after my set up of the proper stance, ball perpendicular to club head and my aim true; I simply stretch my arms outward bringing the club head slightly forward from the ball. I then take my backswing and find that the downward swing takes care of itself as it is remarkable how the forward 'inward outward' downswing occurs automatically. At 70 years old I am finally achieving a great and satisfactory golf shot. Thanks to your video.

Greg worked on your drill today at the range , first time in a long time I have had the ball starting at the flag and drawing . Try as I might I could not get the ball starting to the right of the flag and drawing back , what am I still missing . Delighted with what I am doing so far , thanks John.
@GregJonesGolf5 жыл бұрын
Hey John, thank you for your comments. You need to work a little more on swing path. Path tells you the direction the ball starts in face angle puts the spin on the on the ball. Right to left would be the follow through starts the ball right the impact closed face will put counter clockwise spin which spins the ball to the left (right to left ball flight). Write back anytime.

Hi Greg. holy cow, this tip has worked wonder for me. thank you very much. quick question, towards the end of this tutorial, you made a point of swinging down (without hitting the ball) and purposefully hitting the pole directly in front of you (the taller yellow pole lined up with your toes at address). i'm unclear as to the point of that. is hitting that taller pole indicative that one is still hitting down on an outward in path? thank you for your feedback
@GregJonesGolf10 жыл бұрын
Greg Jones When you are swing the club there are only two swing paths that you can make. In to out (down the line) or out to in (over the top). when making an out to in swing path you will knock down the the pole located at the end of your toes. Thanks for your comment I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. Learn, Practice to Improve Greg

THAAAAAANK YOOOOOUUUU!! I've been struggling with my game this past month, lost all feeling of the right swing path, watched your video and applied it at my next round, didn't even need to hit the range ! Lol.. This was all done on the fly, can't wait to practice on the range and figure out my new distances! Thanks again!!:)

Hi Greg - This is very helpful, I am struggling with this concept lately. Is it fair to say that one way to think of it is that the back swing is outside to inside and the downswing/follow through is inside to outside?

Greg, I keep pulling my shorter irons and driver. Any thought? I'm 69 and in decent shape. 3 yrs ago I was a 6.4 index. I'm a 12 index now. I cant seem to get consistent with my swing? 77 one day 93 the next day. 240-260 drives, then 200-220 drives? Also lost my iron distance. Just watched your inside out video , made a lot of sense! What do you charge for a lesson? Do you think a lesson would help? Thanks, Walt
@GregJonesGolf7 жыл бұрын
Your swinging early from the top which is causing you to swing from out side the line to inside the line. This swing path causes a pull. Try to delay swinging the club early and only swing through the impact area. Also set an intermediate target on the ground about a foot and a half in front of your ball and work at swing over top of it.
@waltreyer797 жыл бұрын
Thanks Greg, I'm waiting for my back swig swing to finish, lead shoulder under chin before starting down. I'm keeping a little more pressure on inside of front foot? This seem to help me transfer my weight better and feel the club head rotating around my lead foot? Concentrating on swinging through impact seems to help. too early to tell. Thanks again, Walt

Hi Greg - so don't hit the shaft in the front? How do I have forward shaft lean and hit down on the ball, divot etc swinging inside to out? Thanks - Steven - Is a fade the opposite?
@GregJonesGolf9 жыл бұрын
+Steven Pressas Hi Steven, hope you have tried this. With this drill we are trying to hit down the line. Gregmaybe you have a tip for me .... 20 yrs a low 80's golfer & I never had the shanks ... Now for a full yr I cant shake them .. but only on my irons ..... everything else is not a problem ... even my pitching & chipping are shanking ...and the irons and short game were my best parts of my game ... I've watched 100 videos & even taken a few lessons ... I might hit a good shot or 2 & good bye ... then I immediately shake every iron over & over .... I cant even keep a score .... Can you give me any advice I just played 3 rounds in Myrtle beach & hit 2 iron shots in 3 days that weren't severe shanks ! A golfers worst nightmare Denny
