Hugels are a great way to use up all that yard waste that comes every year. We have one I made a few years ago in our yard, you may find the video on my channel if you wish to view it. You have a great start going. I think it's good to start in the fall/winter, it gives you more time to build them. Looking forward to the updates!

And so, what will you use the hugelmound for? I've made a few, not sure what to do with them. One on each side of border. It's convenient but weeds grow. So how do you get rid of the weeds without poison? I haven't used poisons, just dig out but the weeds in the mounds aren't eradicated. So please discuss care for them and what to do with them. Thank you

I thought there was an alternating layers of greens in the pile's construction to keep the carbon/nitrogen ratio around 30 to 1and aid in the releasing of the nutrients and decay of the wood for water retention.
@MYPERMACULTUREGARDEN4 жыл бұрын
Well, you definitely know more than me.... Remember that this was the very first time we tried this. Its been 3 years and every year we pile more of the same... I mainly use it to see what the benefit of the decomposing logs due to my plants. What I found is that, the plants that grow there are bigger and greener and their yield is about 3 times more than the other plants in my garden. I will be doing a follow up video real soon. ( Problem with the Hugel is the shape, so this year we have surrounded it with metal and added more compost ) Thank you for your comment and for watching !

If you ever get fire ants in your compost again, find another fire ant hill and shovel as much of it into a wheelbarrow and then toss it into the compost. Fire ants are very territorial and will kill each other, and they go straight for the queen and kill the nest within 2 days :)

I am in very Northwest Florida ,Zone 8a minimum temp 10°F to 15°F yes terrible fire ants. Fire ants like to hide under things, like big logs, plywood,where they do not get too much rain in there colony. Going to try this in Northwest Florida will need to take steps to keep ants out of the HUGELKULTUR. I am by Flomaton Alabama. Good to state where you are from so other gardeners know what to look out for.

If you believe Jesus was God in the flesh and call on his name you will be forgiven your sins because He is God who took on human form and offered Himself as a sacrifice. Be on the lookout for Satan's impending appearance on earth where he will pretend to be Jesus. Jesus was eating at Simon's house (Simon was a leper whom Jesus had healed) a few days before He was crucified when a lady arrived with a box of priceless ointment and anointed Him with its contents. The disciples thought the woman was crazy since she might have sold the ointment and donated the money to the needy. She had anointed him for burial, Jesus said, and he commanded that what he had done be reported so that she would be remembered wherever the gospel is preached.
