My aunt and uncle have a Foosball table with a small spring-loaded circle in the middle of the field. You place the ball on the circle, press it down beneath the level of the playing surface until it locks, and you and your opponent(s) wait for it to automatically pop back up to start the game. It’s actually quite fun, and if you manage to get one of your men to kick the ball while it’s in the air, you can sometimes score an instant goal if you’re lucky. More often, though, it just launches the ball outside of the confines of the table.
