I have no connection with Lochgelly, but this cine film, warmed the cockles of my heart. Well done for digitizing this 8mm movie for future generations to view. This kind of documentary film is important for historical purposes. Thanks for sharing this wonderful movie.

Nicely filmed too! So many people used to wave their cine cameras all over the place - but this person followed the advice - "hold the camera still and let your subject do the moving." :-)

I remember getting the steam train from Lochgelly to Burntisland then it changed to buses, they left from North Street, Ravenscraig was my least popular as it was too far from the beach.

attended a few of these with my family when i was a boy but they were on the bus with a lot of singing and a whole load of streamers flying out the windows on the way. it switched to silversands in aberdour by the time i was old enough to remember but i think i can remember 1 where it was in burntisland

You will see on other videos the 14 double decker buses heading towards Burntisland and Ravenscraig park with the streamers hanging from the windows. Hopefully i'll be posting 1963 soon.
