I think he consciously chooses it. He purposely got out of the good looking young romantic lead that he had when he was in his 20-30s and went into dramas with serious themes into them and purposely grew facial hair. He’s very like Will in that way in some sense but I think he’s very careful in roles. There’s his wife’s career too that he sometimes crosses paths with. And then whenever his wife gives birth he takes a break and then does some light background actor work

@@KoiYakultGreenTea I didn’t know that. It make sense then. Hugh is a family oriented man and that’s of course, an admirable quality for an actor. But I wish we could have seen Hugh in more movies like King Arthur. I always imagined him in something like Game of Thrones too for some reason, even though he was never cast for a role there. A shame really. I would have liked to see Hugh alongside Sean Bean. I think he is very versatile actor, because he can obviously act very naturally. But he also has an incredible youthfulness to him, that makes it easier to change roles on a whim. His amazingly good looks are also very, very welcome. As always, I hope that we will someday get a 4th season of Hannibal 😣 #SaveHannibal

What I'm thinking is. Hannibal hides in plain sight, and unlike Hobbs he does not hide from him self, as he doesn't have his significant other, everyone becomes his significant other, exception will be Will. Hobbs hides from everyone completely, there are no manifestations of Hobbs in regards to everyone, apart from times when he is with Abbigail, and even then his manifestation is through Abbigail. And Will who got a glimpse directly behind the curtain, without the need to hold any appearances, not to everyone, nor to significant other. Curtain is what is to be caught in Will's vision. Hobbs does not see the absurdity of his question, he thinks consequences would be the same, therefore creates a perfect projection, of having more than it already is. Seriously, even after leveling up with the criminal to such an extent as to do the same.... Or maybe, Hobbs, who covers himself up behind Abbigail, is also curtain-less, "pure" and "innocent", even after the did. That would put Hobbs alongside Will. Nevertheless, at the moment when the question is being asked, the question is nothing more than provocation, then projection. He at the moment of asking, by asking the question, created Will's vision. The question is, can the vision be created by one's own self? In other words, who owns curtain? Follow up question, can vision be blurred or made foggy, and is one capable of staying sharp by one's own power? Perception is a double-edged sword.
