I watched Mad Max recently and what struck me is that Toe Cutter was a real stand out character because of the charismatic way that Hugh Keays-Byrne portrayed him, adding a few personality ticks in his line delivery. Made his performance really stand out. I am so happy that he was brought back to play Immortan Joe in Fury Road.

It's got to be odd having acted, like so many before him, in a what would seem at the time to be a low-budget film that would be seen by very few and forgotten weeks later only to have that film turn into a cult classic and from there to be brought back to the franchise decades later as a new character and knowing, all the while, your contribution as an actor will live on longer than your physical being. Tip of the hat to you, wherever you may be, Mr. Kaeys-Byrne.
