Just truth music from the soul. Powerful. The thing about the Sixties is that people were open to new experiences, music, art in a search for the meaning of life and to try to achieve a greater consciousness. Now- people say f#@* that - show me the money.

Hi. Do you know where I can find more pieces of Hugh Masekela at Monterey Pop, 1967?
@anachronoclast3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, no. This is the full clip from Pennebaker's documentary on the whole festival; I don't know if the rest of the footage is available anywhere. I only know of a Jimi Hendrix full performance video, not any of the other acts

"Hugh Masekela's music was black as night" ("Monterey" The Animals) It's sounds like an elongated ( four min.) whole band effort, to get in tune (they never could).

That line got me into Hugh Masekela in 1968. My first jazz albums. I've never looked back and regret him having to cancel a concert because of a broken arm and my last chance to see him.

Is that a dig at them?? Please don't be so cowardly in your wording if that's the case and learn how to spell. 😂

Sounds a lot better than Miles Davis’s electric stuff.
