Yes, truly amazing. I had no idea Masekela was ever on that show, especially at that time. A great musician.

Within 4 years of this episode, both Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masekela would have top twenty US records: "Pata Pata" and "Grazing In The Grass".

Orson was always interesting. But Timbuktu is in Mali, not South Africa.

The respect and humility blacks had has made them look like they were inferior. They we so humble here Hugh and his friends.

Unless they put it within a half-hour slot or replace the original commercials with present day ones, they will not show this episode on Buzzr due to the fact that the sponsor that week was "Winston's" cigarettes. Buzzr likes to show the original telecasts of "To Tell the Truth", "What's My Line?" and "I've Got a Secret" along with original commercials that aired with them. Cigarette commercials have been a no-no on TV since 1971.
