I absolutely adore Hugh as an actor and a person. I had the amazing experience of watching him last month with my mom, and we waited outside the backdoor to meet him. He was so sweet, goofy and humble staying to chat with us and sign my playbill. I will go back probably several more times now that I live here in the city while he's still playing Erik. :)

I remember thinking that, too, the first time I saw him. He was still in full costume/make-up/mask and doing the BC/EFA fundraising speech at the curtain call. And he seemed so sweet compared to only minutes before when he'd been so unnerving in Final Lair.

Oh, he seems so nice! I wish I had the guts to wait by the stage door and meet him! I've seen him perform as The Phantom three times now. He's absolutely one of my favorites!

@screaminPirate Most people just wait right at that alley entrance. The alley is shared by a few theatre and the actual stage door is at the far end. The cast comes out through that alley, but sometimes they don't all come out after the matinees. For example, this past Wed., none of the cast came out because of a photo session for the 23rd birthday party.
