You’re half right, these forests are naturally inclined to burn as part of their lifecycle. Humans don’t like forest fires and so we put them out but because of that the dead trees and other brush fire material builds up and it’s impossible to clear all of these debris from hundreds of square acres. So when one spark be it from a lightning strike,cigarette butt, campfire ashes or in the extremely unlikely case of malicious activity, the entire area can go up in flames extremely quickly and easily.
