My galaxy a12, oppo a53, redmi 9 prime and nokia g10 will soon become the grandpa's of smartphone in a few years. I still remember the first time I laid hands on this device. Some of my friends' family just returned from the us with a simlocked iphone. The only way to unlock that and flash it so it can use any sim was basically to connect two traces together so the phone could be rooted. That was the jankiest stuff I've ever pulled on one of these but it did work in the end, and the person was super happy except for the slightly bent frame. Of which I can see you also are having some trouble with :D

The first iPhone had really limited features when it was released. The App Store didn't exist until a day before the second iPhone (3G) was released so you wasn't able to install any 3rd party apps. You only had the things that the phone came with. It didn't even have video recording, MMS (popular back then), file manager, multitasking, 3G, WiFi hotspot, bluetooth file transfer (popular back then) and many other things. Nokia already had a some kind of App store on Symbian smartphones and of course you were able to get apps from web sites. There was also some Symbian UIQ smartphones from Sony etc. with touchscreen and of course Windows Mobile smartphones

Sounding positive there mate!! Cheering us all up. Interesting seeing these old ones being repaired. The design is just a world away from today's restrictive, tri-winged tricky "can't do anything because otherwise we'll stop your features from working" designs such as any of the newer no home button iPhones or even just iPhone 7 or 8s. That why I enjoy stripping down a four every so often just to keep my hand in it while I have no newer projects.

Got one in a lot of 4 other iPhones for a total of $18.25 The first generation is in ALMOST mint condition and fully functional, I was the only bidder because the title for the lot was absolutely terrible. it was like "I'm moving so i'm selling these phones I found in a drawer" or something so nobody found it. I have no idea how I found it myself but i'm so glad I did, It also came with an FMI off 5s a FMI off 4s a 3g and a FMI ON iphone 5. Im probably never going to have this good of a deal ever again and I got in contact with the owner and he is gonna try to remove icloud from the iphone 5 so its 5 for 5 wich is amazing.

The first ever smartphone was the palm’s Treo, starting from the “180º to the last model the “Pro”, (the firs iPhone was a direct competitor of this one). When palm sinked down, apple bought most of it’s product patents, the most famous was the quick silence action switch (the Treo had it at the top instead the side location on the iPhone) and the capacitative two parts touch screen. However nowadays the iPhone become a totally different gadget and it’s awesome, now it’s a referent of how a mobile phone hato be. After owning 6 different treo models, I got ,y first iPhone, my first one was the same of the video, and I loved it from the first moment, i got really amazed for the easy way to “synchronize” it whit my power book just like my iPod, and now I can simply live without apple products, and your videos every Saturday afternoon

4 or 5 years ago my company had a program to dispose of older corporate phones and I remember seeing bins of these phones just sitting in the hallway for days, waiting for a tech disposal company to cart them away. If only I knew that anyone would have wanted them I could have grabbed 50 of them. Who knew?

What an amazing look back in time to Apple's innovation under Jobs. I was always a big fanboy but they lost me after the 6 series. Nothing that new or revolutionary after that imo. But the original iPhone, the 4, and the 6 plus were amazing at their respective times

@@basic-decaf They did change it too, lol. But then did iPhone, and so far with a bigger, deeper impact. Has anyone done it again? Nope, we still live in a smartphone era marked by that first iPhone. Got it now?
@basic-decaf
@basic-decaf 4 жыл бұрын
@@disco.lemonade Far bigger, deeper impact? Lol. BlackBerry literally put e-mail in your hands. BlackBerry literally made companies mobile. You could work from your car and access the internet from.. your pocket. A single AA battery and the device would last for 3 weeks. BlackBerry changed everything, they revolutionized the world. That is what defines a "smartphone." And that's what we're talking about here, smartphones. E-mail, internet, from your pocket. Every smartphone in existence today is built off of that first BlackBerry. The only thing Apple did was put the keyboard in the screen.

I love the look back. When the first iPhone came out I couldn't believe the difference from my iPod. Woah. By the time the 6s came out I had it for a while until the Note 8 and I switched. After the switch I have the note 10+. If iPhone would let me play my own mp3 tracks without iTunes, and open up the software for personality, I would go back. Maybe.
