I am so grateful for all your videos, and will especially share this one on our theme camp FB site! You have articulated exactly what a theme camp should be all about, at whatever scale it may exist. Thank you, Halcyon!

Thank you Halcyon. I would just like to add gifting camp to camp creates lasting bonds that can grow year after year. My Burning man is about gifting breakfast. The effort to get up early in a place that stays up late. Few years ago we connected with another early morning theme camp and after making breakfast deliveries back and forth to each other we came together to form a village to gift bigger and better and kind of creating a one stop shop. Everything you said is so true and I hope more people change the way they think of gifting. It's not a bargaining tool or a right, it's a GIFT and like my Mom says if you don't apretiate it give it to someone who will.

Very cool video, thank you! I've been thinking about creating a theme camp for 2016 and when I saw your note that "You can even be a Theme Camp of one" my heart kinda skipped a beat. So if you see "Family Reunion Camp" in BRC, know that you played a part in encouraging its existence!!!

inspiring, as camp coordinators are in the depths of work. Many started months ago and we're in the final stretch

When ppl shop around for theme camps it is sometimes because they are 1. Not bringing their own, 2. Looking to learn from an experienced camp, 3. Looking to pay the least amount but ensure meals are shared.

I LOVE Pink heart camp! Thank you for this video. I am hoping to form a theme camp for my friends next year. We have so much that we want to share with everyone ♥ Any tips or links that you can offer? It will be my second burn, but it will a lot of my friends' first time so I'm hoping to have things as orderly as possible lol

You don’t go to burning man to be given anything you already pay a high fee so you need to have fun and enjoy yourself

Okay, I'm confused. Please explain dues and paying for meals. Does this mean many Burning Man theme camps require money to participate? Please consider a video explaining the role of money. Thanks!
@sydneyligourigrady8 жыл бұрын
Typically, theme camps collect dues in order to pay for communal food, water, transportation of equipment/supplies to playa, as well as supplies needed for communal space structures and art pieces. You pay dues in order to contribute to all of these things, while at the same time contributing your time and effort before the burn to help organize/plan/build/etc all of the aforementioned things. Without all camp member's contributions (time/effort and monetary), it would be impossible for theme camps to exist.
