I wasn't expecting a horrible ending whatsoever. Throughout the whole gameplay, i hoped for Amicia and Hugo to find the island, for real! And proved hugo's dream as true..

Same, I thought that too, that they would finally find a cure since that's Amicia's (and the player's) goal. It's a pretty bold move for them to let go of a character we (literally) held dearly for the entire two games. It was bittersweet. I'm still sad

It has already been a month and I am still thinking about this game. It has been a long time for me to be immersed into a story-driven game with such beloved characters. This is how you expand the relationship of two main characters. Hugo didn't deserve what he got but he can now rest easy and I want to give Amicia a big hug. She never asked for this.

Both A Plague Tale Innocent and Requiem are the best video games ever made so far. The story telling was perfect even tho i hated how Hugo had to die for good. He was such an innocent and genuine little baby that just wanted to live a normal life with Amicia n their mum. Knowing that he could never go to his dream island is just painful. I will miss his laughs and giggles:") And i feel so bad for Amicia, she wanted the best for her brother, yet she had to decide for so many things that sometimes are too hard for her to deal with. But im truly amazed how much blood, tears, and sweat Amicia had sacrificed just for her brother to be happy, she might lost everything in the end but she still managed to stay strong :) *time to sob again

After reading some of these comments and obviously playing the game I think I found somewhat of a meaning behind the games. Innocence always dies out eventually, in the first game Hugo WAS the innocence. He was always so naïve and optimistic, in the second game he was sad and stressed…And in the end Innocence always dies. Also requiem can sometimes mean a mass of repose of the dead but it can also mean a Token of remembrance.

@@mundobostal8530 logically speaking, I kow the curse is fair, so I'm not gonna speak in favor of the other boys who would have probably become like the murderer once they grew up. But it has been millenia. I think the family already paid enough with all of those generations of misery. The Phoenix must think that as well, that whoever serves as Hugo and the other boys' soul already learned his lesson and is gonna try and become a better person for it. Otherwise, why would Hugo dream with the Phoenix healing him instead of having him dream that he killed the creature ?
