Hugo Olierook: Pink Diamonds - Science behind the craze

Hugo Olierook, from Curtin University, will be presenting "Pink diamonds: the science behind the craze" for Geological Society of Australia - WA chapter's May 2024 technical presentation in Perth, 1st May 2024.
With the closure of the Argyle diamond mine, which produced more than 90% of pink diamonds from the 1980s to 2020, the hunt is on to find more of these elusive gems. Yet it wasn’t fully clear what ingredients are required to find a new treasure trove of diamonds. Our work provides insights into where the next trove of pinks may be found, with work already ongoing.
