Dear Lord! When I saw the scene at 1:38, I recall freaking out and thinking that FINALLY we would see an amazing kiss...sadly my dreams was crushed a second later when they simply hugged. I literally fell back and pouted :(

I so wish this show would come back on even though some of the original cast has died. The continuation could ignore all the episodes leading up to and after Catherine's death and new ones be made or they could find some way of editing some, ignoring others so that it appears that Catherine had never died, the baby had never existed and all those episodes were about other things. I wish they would do this and erase the great mistake they made in letting Catherine and Vincent become intimate with each other. It messed up the magic of the show. Their hugs, symbolizing love and restraint from doing what they both knew would be wrong was what made the show.

I always loved their hugs! We were just robbed of a *mutual* kiss - we were SO close to actually seeing one (not a shadow kiss) full of passion in AKBTS at the beginning on the balcony, when Vincent kisses her hand and is about to look away, embarrassed by his boldness, when Catherine puts her hand on his face to stop him. Their eyes meet ... they both want it. Then the knock on the door. UGH! Would've been great to see them make love in Cathy's bed in the same ep he said "I love you."

Scrappy527 What you wanted would have had the same effect. The series would have quickly ended because it should have not happened. Catherine and Vincent were not right for that kind of relationship with each other. The series gave us many, many indications why a more serious relationship would have never worked-Catherine had covered up Vincent injuring or killing criminals. As his dear friend, she could do this, but as his lover I think it would have some day been something she would feel she could no longer do. Another thing is that being his lover would have meant either forever hiding that fact or going to his home which would mean leaving her family and friends which is something I don't think she could have ever done.

You're right, not exactly 'happy' hugs late in season 2, but those episodes had some of the most brilliant acting of the series imo! Particularly the raw emotions from Vincent that Ron was so skillfully able to portray and 'Father' as 'Paracelsus' disguised as 'Father' .. Incomparable acting!

Jasleen Kaur it’s on DVD now. So good, but stop before the second half of ‘Though lovers be lost” unless you want to have your heart break in two forever. Live in denial and believe they are still in the tunnels together.
