I have a free-standing light *_table_* about 22"x28", which I bought maybe 16 years ago. My workflow for comics was to do roughs at print size, get Xerox enlargements and then trace over that on the light table. I started my professional life in a traditional 2D Animation studio, where all the artists had custom-built light boxes made of plywood. They were built so that the main surface was at an incline and a rotating disc was inset within. Great for 16 mm animation, but still too small for comics, so I paid someone to build me a bigger version that could accommodate an 11x17 piece of paper. Worked well for a while, but it was very heavy and needed to sit on a big table. I sold it later for much less than it cost me to have built. My big light table is all I have left. No regular drawing table remains of my once-extensive collection of artist's furniture. I still have a rolling taboret/cabinet, but that's it. I am totally (and permanently!) digital, and all my equipment now sits on a a 5' long folding table. LOL This Huion looks great and should do the job nicely.

I get what you're saying, dude. I wanna get this cause I'm looking at too many shiny digital screens all day. This could help shift a little away from that.

I don't feel comfortable without being able to ctrl+z :( I also remember using my kitchen window as a lightbox when I was a kid. Tracing is fun, I should do it again sometime

I had a homemade lighttable that my dad made. It worked, but it was awkward to use because the angle was too steep and the lightbulb in it would make the plexiglass super hot.

Do you know how many adjustable settings of light intensity the Huion has, because there is a light board that has 10, maybe you've seen this one, www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00JA5OMY6/ezvid02-20 Btw nice ink work on your character, what kind of pen were you using?

Hi there, I know this is late in the game, but I was wondering if the lights die out, are they replaceable?

I have the 8.5 x 11 version of this. I agree, I don't like that this needs to be plugged in to work. It should be chargeable so the user can bring it anywhere they need it. That seemed like a silly thing to overlook. It's practically mandatory to incorporate that technology into this. Other than that, that is also my only complaint/ con on this device.

Hey John, buy a portable power bank, then all you have to do is connect it via usb and you have a portable light box

How bright is this compared to other models? Like the Litup LP3. Id like to use this with 150lb Canson paper or 2 ply Strathmore Bristol

Great review and advice! It was very inspirational watching you ink. May I ask what kind of pen you are using?

So do they make a light board like the Huion that actually captures what you draw to the pc?
@jonathanrector8 жыл бұрын
+Anthony Carriger What do you mean? Like a Cintiq?

It is £60-70 in the uk which is not that much more than a video game if you think about it.

hi! I would like to know if you can pass images from the computer to the table so you do not have to print them, it would save me a lot of time. Thank you!
@jonathanrector8 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what you're asking specifically. Are you wondering if this is a 'screen' like a monitor?
@Asphyxsiada8 жыл бұрын
yes, more or less, instead of tracing with a folio, do it directly with the image on the table, I have explained well ? thank you!
@jonathanrector8 жыл бұрын
Oh! Ok, no, it's not. All it is, is a flat plastic surface that lights shines through. It's literally a light box, hope that helps!

ok, thank you , i´ll keep looking.

Can you comment on the price if you didn't pay for it? Tho I'm only making that assumption since it came across that way from the beginning of the video. It certainly looks good thou, wish it had a stand so I can sit it on an angle since I'm working on a flat surface.
@jonathanrector8 жыл бұрын
+Daniel B Sure can! It's 100-120 Canadian on Amazon.ca. I bought a second one for my niece to draw with, if that helps at all. Thanks for watching!

Can you display your digital images on the screen (using USB to load) or can you only put a hard copy image down on the light box/tablet? If not is there another product you can recommend for this?

it's really sad that digital sunk it;s fangs into one of the purest artforms that exists, drawing , with a pencil on paper. It;s been a hobby i've been born with and nothing will change my mind on which is better analog or digital, for me it;s a no brainer
