Huion HS610 Unboxing & Initial Review - A Wacom Intuos Pro Killer?

In this video I'll be taking a first look at the new Huion HS610 graphics tablet with an unboxing and an initial thoughts take on the review. Overall this tablet pleasantly surprised me and was a purchase that I feel very satisfied with. I was originally planning on buying an Intuos Pro M, but this one was released at the perfect time and being a new product with little information from consumers, I figured I'd give it a review of my own.

I am using flipaclip as an animation app for creating animations , i wanted to know that if i connect this Huion HS-610 to my android , would it follow the pressure levels or the pressure levels adjusted by the app, because in the app i can modify my pen nib from 7mm to 0.1mm . How well do the lines taper when drawing slower lines? This is a huge deciding factor to me.

It really depends on your hand with it. I find that the tapering is very nice if you desire it, I personally use vector lines when drawing so tapered ends usually get cut off. I haven't really found it to act in ways that I don't want it to unless I make a mistake myself

Thank you so much for this video buddy. I am trying to switch off the pen hovering feature but can't find it in this application. As soon as the pen comes close to the pad it starts to write, I only want it to write when I actually touch the pad. Any idea how I can do it please?

thats one of the many hardware issues they have YET to fix. (yes, 7 months later, still horrible.) i made the mistake of buying few of these, it added up and became more expensive than it would have been if i bought wacom in the first place. huion had many hardware issues, i had to reinstall, redo my settings multiple times, i fixed it for a bit and issues came back OR a new one appeared, dont get me started on the pen, it randomly stopped working and my configurations of the screen reset or just changed into something else. is it really worth it? this is a choice between multiple "small" purchases vs one and done purchase. wacom is not perfect but huion is far off it. PS i am good with tech, contacted support, and tried multiple solutions which ended in a fail, this aint a case of a dumb person not understanding how things work, just to get it out of the way.

The HS610 definitely wins in terms of value in my opinion. With features the two tablets trade blows between wireless and android support, but with the HS610's more express keys and Huion's drivers I'd personally recommend it, especially since it comes in at a lower price.

I have no hands on experience with the Deco 01, but based on specs I think that the HS610 is definitely a better buy. You're getting more features with the Huion side of things. They're both good options, but I would definitely pick the HS610

Absolutely not, this tablet feels very high quality. Some of the nicest tactile feedback I've gotten on a tablet, it feels much more premium than the price would make you think

As far as I am aware, no. There is a set space on the tablet for Android usage and there doesn't seem to be any way to configure it currently. However, I will also say that having the entire horizontal length of the tablet mapped to a smartphone may be disproportionate, I find the current active area quite comfortable

@@jonathansim8725 No problem! I'd avoid Wacom entirely as their drivers are infamously bad and their tech support has spawned many horror stories. If you want mobility, the HS610 is definitely my #1 recommendation because of the android support. I can't really recommend any other tablets in the sub $100 ramhe since the ones that compete with the HS610 are typically less feature-rich. Between $100 and $200 check out the Q11K V2 which is wireless and has a generous surface area.

Like... there are a few tablets on the Huion website which have the same, similiar or arguably worse specifications and are significantly more expensive... for example the INSPIROY Q11K tablet... only advantage I can see on that one is a slightly larger active area.

Yes! I downloaded Krita and tested the HS610 with it, the pen pressure works perfectly and it's just as smooth as Clip Studio Paint & Photoshop.

As mentioned above, it does work with Krita @Martin Gonda! The big difference between the Q11K V2 + WH1409 V2 and the HS610 is that the two former tablets boast a larger active area and wireless support. However, as someone that loves large drawing areas, I found the HS610 to actually be more than adequate with a very comfortable working area. I feel like Huion is trying to make a statement with the HS610, they've lowered the price of it compared to its predecessor, the 1060 series, while adding new features and updating the design. I think they want to make it clear that they have no intentions of raising their prices to be recognized as a premium brand, they know that their products are great and stack up against their competitors, but they can keep their prices low. The HS610 is their newest product, but they're still manufacturing some of the older ones, their prices just haven't been adjusted. This is why it may seem like their other products have less featured/older specs but higher prices.

Every tablet I have bought from Huion came with a glove {I really didnt use them though, it is not really needed on this type of tablet, the large screen type maybee but even then I didnt use them and Im a pro

Intuos Pro is still undoubtedly a superior experience (with a few more bells and whistles like touch input, however this one counters it with android support; In the end both of these features are equally useless in my eyes though lol). But is it $200+ kind of superior....Not sure about that one.

Here are the primary differences between the Intuos Pro M and the HS610 in terms of features; - Intuos Pro has Wireless Support - Intuos Pro has touch gestures - HS610 has android support That being said, the latter two are niche options that not everyone will use. I personally don't like touch gestures and find them rather annoying when trying to draw, more due to Windows' lack of proper handling for them than the tablets' executions. Android support is also not something everyone will want, but as you'd said they balance each other out. The wireless support is something very nice to have, but the Huion WH1409 has wireless support and twice the surface area of the Intuos Pro M at less than half the cost. (By the by I should clarify that I mostly agree with you, I just wanted to add more information to your comment for people that are interested in grabbing new tablets!) Not to mention Wacom's drivers. I would argue more in favor of older Wacom tablets, they are built like tanks and hold up well years later. The newer Intuos products don't really stack up too well from a value standpoint when compared to any of their competitor's products. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, I wouldn't call the Wacom a superior experience, if anything due to the shotty drivers I'd actually say the Huion has a smoother out-of-box experience and the value is definitely there. If Wacom lowered their prices to stay competitive with the average consumer it might be a more fair comparison
