For the color problem you have to set them all to the same color profile. Set the huion to match the other two . You should do so under your display settings on your computer

Hello, Nice review. I was looking for a review of this tablet and came across yours. However, I would like to add some information here from my experience. In simple words, There are three types of displays IPS, TN, and VA. IPS is excellent at colors, TN is very fast i.e good for gaming but has bad colors. VA has bad colors but high contrast good for texts and lines. Looking at your monitor it seems it is a gaming type and it could mean there is a high possibility that it has a TN panel (you can confirm by searching the model number) and the tablet is IPS with 140+% of sRGB color space (which means it can display a lot of colors accurately). So I would really suggest that you prefer the colors of your tablet and you can use the monitor to get an idea of how your work will appear on displays which are not good at colors. I have a good and bad color display combo too. I draw and select my colors on good ones but use bad one to compare the art and see if my art can look good on bad color displays too as there are many people who are going to use that display.

I love the size for the tablet. However, every time I try to get the colours correct and I reset it it changes its main base colour every time I’ve tried fixing it to huions method. but it’s been pretty awful for colour to be honest. My cheap HP monitors from Costco match colours better which is saying something.

Thanks for your comment. I've been advised in this very comment section that many monitors have 1 of 3 different display modes. Please find the comment from @vibhratchaubey for a better explanation. Since my monitor seems to have a TN display, of course the colour will look different because it's a gaming monitor. This is something I did not know when I made the video. So check to see what type of display your HP monitor has. I just made a few tweaks with the brightness and saturation of my Huion to match to my monitors but not too much. What I do now, is focus more on colour correction after I finish my artwork. When I drag my art to my other monitor, the colours are not as saturated as they appear in the Huion. So, I open up Photoshop and play with the levels, curves, adjustments and all that goes into colour grading to make my original drawing pop on my monitor because most likely that is how it will look on social media. Its additional work but its what I have to do for all of my art projects including my animations posted on my channel. I really hope this helps. this is a very late comment but do you have any problem with the cursor accuracy? my huion tablet has this problem. whenever i tilt my pen the cursor will move away from the tip of pen. no matter how much i calibrate it it just doesn't fix it

Hello! No I don't have that problem with my pen cursor. Something seems to be wrong with your pressure sensitivity maybe. Try setting it back to its default stage in your Huion app settings.

As a professional, I will say a few words: 1- Good one regarding the colors- but it can be manually adjusted. 2- I am Huion user for more than a decade, and I also use this tablet from the day 1- no driver problems, ever. 3- Buttons? Yes, I missed them too... So I bought the Mini Keydial for around $60 and that solve everything (this small thing is freaking awesome!). In general, this is a really incredible device- especialy for that price. 9/10

Thank you too, for this tip! I'm getting a mini keydial / pad too and I found one that's wireless so it's so much easier to place and use than an entire computer-keyboard. On second thought, the Huion Kamvas RDS-160 is a great second choice too, and I may get that. The left side of it's frame has 10 function buttons, so I may not even need an extra keydial!

Honestly the key dial is fun for a while. If you can remember the key mapped then it is useful. Else don’t set up too many keys on the mini dial. You would stuck to guess the function and quit using it. I wish Huion can release led display for each keypads like how intuos 4 assigned to buttons on the drawing pad.

@@DinodogJr Print stickers or use some white pen... On the other hand, I rarely use more than 5-6 buttons, which is easy to remember even in a pitch dark. Thought, I hope Huion will come with a better solution in the future.

Colors can be matched somewhat with a color calibrator, however, there are variations in color even between identical display panels in the same product. I have two of the exact same Samsung monitor and one of them is slightly more green and one is slightly more magenta, even though I have color calibrated them with a colormunki and displaycal. I know that you can find monitors that have been color matched out of the factory, that you can pay more for, but as far as I know this is not a thing with display tablets.

Great video. Just wanted to know if you've tried color profiles, I've seen some reddit posts about installing color profiles and that fixes it to a certain extent. I'm getting my 22 plus on friday and wanted to see what's the best option to fix the colors, since I'll be using for client work almost all the time

Thank you so much for your comment! I believe the colour profile is the display settings on the Huion itself. I put mine in the description box so you can copy but it may vary depending on your computer monitor/laptop. You just have to keep playing around with it until it suits your preferred outcome. I'm very aware of colours now so I decide on them very early on before drawing any final piece. Hopefully this helps! And let me know if you have any other questions. :)

Picture > Backlight: 70 Brightness: 50 ( though might increase it a little to 55) Contrast: 46 Sharpness: 1 Colour > Gamma: 2.4 Temp >> R: 120 G:125 B: 130 Colour Effect (H / S Values) >> R: 59 / 42 Y: 58 / 44 G: 44 / 40 C: 60 / 36 B: 58 / 50 M: 38 / 49 i use these settings!! they are v good imo

Most online reviewers don't mention color accuracy, sure Huion says 145% sRGB, but they actually mean Volume not Gamut. The extra percent is for the more saturated Reds and Greens, way outside the sRGB spectrum. After calibrating with a Spyder5, results came out as 96% sRGB, and the graph shows a small chunk of the blue spectrum missing.

Exactly what I faced on blue and Green tint on Kamvas 22 plus. I am consider to sell it out after two years of trying to adapt with this situation. Big screen like this is really making one enjoying the workflow. Due to the lack of color accuracy, more table space are required for extended monitor. Overall I really like to create with Huion Kamvas 22 plus. It’s one of the best purchase for my career assets.

@@tianwidjaya9493 Hello! Yes I am still using it for all of my drawing, animating, and sometimes sculpting in Blender art projects. My experience is still great. I have no issues with it now. I think proper care of the equipment is necessary. For example, I always keep my workspace clean and clear of any unnecessary items. But my experience using it is great and well worth the price I paid for it. Hope this helps 🙂

Great video ! Thank you for sharing. About the driver failing... I have a wacom intuos pen tablet, and I have to keep the driver installer file on my desktop as it ALSO FAILS from time to time. The same happens to my brother, he also has a wacom tablet. So it is not unique to Huion and it is not a big deal really. THANKS AGAIN !

just a suggestion that may be helpful. you can open the navigator or even a new window of the same file and drag it to the color accurate monitor. this way, u can see on both screens without dragging every time u wanna check the colors. :-)

Matching colours is indeed frustrating at first on this machine because everyone's monitor is different. So, instead of trying to change the settings of the monitors to look the same, try opening up a navigator window on your drawing software and drag it onto your colour accurate monitor. That way you can see the accurate colours as you draw. This idea was given by another artist who commented under this video. It's just a little additional thing to think of while drawing but it eases the stress of finding out you have the wrong colours by the end. Hope this helps. All the best :)

I gave my daughter such a tablet. For a year and a half she painted on it, everything was fine. But after a recent update, the program for this tablet does not establish a connection with the tablet. Works only as a second monitor. Tried on two different computers, no connection. :( Maybe someone has encountered such a problem and can tell how to solve it?

Sometimes that happens when your computer updates. The pen itself stops working but, dont worry, its an easy fix. You have to uninstall/reinstall the Huion drivers in order to get your pen working again just like when you did the first time you set it up. You can go to the link below to see how to reinstall the drivers on a Windows computer. support.huion.com/en/support/solutions/articles/44001163588-how-to-install-huion-drivers-on-windows If you have a Mac I'm sure there are instructions for that as well. That should be the solution to your problem. Hope that helped. :)

I will actually advised you to get a MMO gaming mouse should give you about 18 or so additional buttons to preset but that would be if you drew with your left hand and can work a mouse with your right hand. But hey by the end of the day what really matters is that you love it 😁😀✨😀😁

I got this back in 2020 and haven't looked back since. I had a good few wacom displayless tablets before this which were fine, but it simply doesn't compare with having a display to draw directly to.

Oh no that's not good. 😟 Have you tried sending a message to Huion? Did you get a warranty? Try doing research to see if it can be fixed at your local computer store. These are some options I would be doing if I had problems with mine. I've now had my pen display for 11 months and I have no issues like that. I also, do my best in keeping my workspace clean and dust free. Hopefully this helps. 🙂

The main 3 to 1 cable that connects your computer to the pen tablet is between 5ft to 5.5ft (I just measured it with a measuring tape lol) which is a perfect distance especially for how my setup is. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks so much for watching! :D

If you're not going to be portable at all than 100% get the kanvas 22 plus, I mean it literally does everything the cintiq 16 does. Same levels of pressure over 8,000 Same amount of tilt functionality Honestly I don't know of any definitive advantage that you would get unless you just really want a smaller drawing display 😆 which you know honesty may not be that bad of a thing it just depends on what you want to do. I work on graphic novels in poster designs so the 22 is much more valuable for my needs. I can also watch movies on it with beautiful quality. I've used the cintiq 13 and I found it to be very small personally so when I upgraded to the kanvas I basically threw it in the dumpster just kidding I just gave it to a friend 😆 And also which version are you looking to get for the cintiq because if it's not laminated honestly there's no point in getting it. The kanvas has a laminated screen it literally makes you feel like you're drawing directly on it with no parallax. No I will say every once in awhile and I mean maybe once every 2 or 3 hours I may get a small blowout on my pen where it'll just make a blob instead of an actual line but honestly that's it. So if you don't mind maybe having that issue want to know while assuming you may have the same issue with you probably may not even have I think it's just best to get the 22 😆

@@SamuelBowns no I fully understand like I said a lot of people probably aren't even going to have this issue I'm probably just one of the rare cases 😂😂😂😂 But like I said usually happens once in like 2 to 3 hours and sometimes it doesn't even happen lol I actually use a MMO gaming mouse with my right hand and I draw with my left so all I have to do is just press the middle of the 12 button layout to undo I mean on the scale of 1 to 10 it's not even a full measurable one in terms of a problem I just thought I'd bring it up in case somebody may have that problem 😆

Nice video, just a few things, you can change the colors on windows settings, and this specific tablet is made for people that doesn’t use those side buttons, but if u really want them, you can buy a mini keyboard for drawing, but usually people buy kamvas 22 pro for buttons. Besides that, i agree with all u said 🙃

Hi there! No I haven't had any pixelation problems. I dont usually use it for 3d work however, I have done some 3d texturing on it once with no issues. It's been over a year since I bought it and I have no problems with it. I keep my workspace clean all the time and wipe my huion device often from dust with the cloth provided. Cheers! :)

You should never change the GREAT color range of your Huion to match the limited GAMING colors - to alter the colors of device like the Huion that has very good color, it’ll be like taking a steak and making it taste like spam… Better to make the spam taste like steak, right?
