@@MelvilleG but i nearly ever see a tablet review from left handed artist. atleast not that I could find. if you know some and can give them to me that would be appreciated. I know lots of ARTIST are left handed but alot of the tablets are designed for right handed. and to be able to have them working nicely for lefthanded people is sometimes quite a struggle

I have had a Huion Tablet for a long time, (not this one, but a very similar one, I see we don't have the same chords) like a year or so. I am so pleased with it, though I should use it alot more, and since I don't have really that much experince with other tablets it's easy to say that I'm pleased with this. I had a problem with my screen after a few months and I had to contact customer service from where I bought it, after they had checked into it they contacted Huion and after a few days they sent me a new one, and not just a new screen but the whole package, and I only had to send back my faulty screen to them.

I just bought one of these, and it has been a nightmare trying to get it set up for left-hand use. That is how I came to this video, have watched quite a few about setting up left-handed and it seems impossible to set up the way I want, with the monitor and tablet duplicated but of course both right-side up! (Sadly you did not cover that here, but enjoyed your video!) I have to use an extended set up which is very frustrating. The worst is that any app I am using on the tablet stays on the tablet screen even if I shut the tablet down and put it out of the way; I have to move each app back to my monitor (which has to be the main screen for the pen cursor to actually show up on the tablet) before I shut down the tablet. I also had the same issue of having to reinstall the driver several times when I was rotating the screen 180 because one thing or another kept failing, such as pen pressure. Overall very frustrating. I would not buy again.

@@danatheswaggiestmaybe start out with a cheaper tablet that doesn’t have a screen like a Wacom bamboo or intuos. It’s a rectangle you set on your desk and use a stylus with while looking up at your computer monitor. Kinda something to get used to with the hand eye coordination aspect but it’s usually way cheaper than a tablet with a display screen like this huion. Then try out a program like clip studio paint when there’s a sale or there’s some pretty good free programs out there like gimp. If you want a screen experience maybe try an iPad with procreate installed. I also find the transition from traditional to digital is easier if you sketch on paper and then import a photo/scan of the sketch into your program and do the line art on a layer above it. Sketching digitally can be hard for me

That's such a cute and whimsical illustration! I love the colours. The cable looks like it's identical on both sides, so couldn't you flip it around so the wire points up for left hand orientation?

Great review of the tablet. Do you have the actual dimensions of the tablet? I can’t find anywhere online the actual dimensions of the unit so it’s hard to gauge the physical size it will be on my desk space. I’m selling my Cintiq 24 HD as it’s absolutely huge! I’ve been creating art on my iPad Pro 12 for a while now but want something a little larger. 😊

Do you HAVE to plug this into a computer?? I want to buy for my daughter to practice her sketching, she loves art, just wanting a stand alone tablet
@JelArts11 ай бұрын
Yes, it's a monitor, it doesn't have a computer in it! It has to be plugged into a computer. Stand-alone tablets tend to be on the pricier end since they have their own system running it. I would recommend an ipad & procreate if it's within the budget. The ipad is pricy, but procreate is just under $20, a one-time purchase, which is amazing compared to some PC software. Just make sure the apple pencil you get has pressure sensitivity - one of the new pens do not have that, and it would make drawing feel very unnatural. Apple came out with this cheaper pen but since it has no pressure sensitivity, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone - it would ruin the drawing experience! Wacom also has some stand-alone tablets but they're even pricier I believe. You could also opt for a pad tablet (no screen), and attach it to a computer and draw that way. That would be the most budget-friendly option. Overall, ipads are so portable and intuitive to use, I would recommend them to any kind of artist & those who can afford them! They last a long time too. www.youtube.com/@thebradcolbow This channel does a lot of tablet reviews, you might find his videos helpful!

I'd suggest not going with huion / xp-pen, their cursor tracking is not even close to wacom, and gets ridiculously offset whenever you draw with a different angle than you calibrated.
@ThePamster2 ай бұрын
If one is looking for a budget tablet coming from say an intous pen one, what would your recommendation be for a intermediate artist looking to break deeper into digital art? I'm frustrated because I feel Wacom's pricing is really beyond my range in the 16" range, but I would like a 16" tablet. I looked at the new Wacom Movink, but I'm concerned it won't work with my GTX 1050 and I will end up disappointed. I would jump on the cintiq 16 but I question the durability and longevity of the screen, but the pricing is better. FHD in a 16 or at worst a 13" is what I'd be willing to accept, as the CIntiq 16 doesn't have touch, if it did have touch, like the Movink that'd be a plus. thanks for any advice you can offer.

I am barely into you sketching on the tablet and the tablet is erasing several of your lines and you have to redraw again and even then may not appear. Why is that?

Do not buy from Huion, my kamvas pro 22 crapped out on me within less than 3 years, and I've used it even less than that, support was completely useless to the point that I was better able to identify problems than the minimum wage person reading a pdf about "most common basic problems", spend a little extra and just get a wacom, what I should've done back then...
