My opinion, Ibis paint X is my favorite. Here's some facts -You can unlock all the brushes for free by watching an ad! -Turn off your wifi and you'll get no ads - You can tap with 2 fingers to undo, 3 fingers to redo - If you didn't know, clipping lets you draw only on the layer below so it's very useful for applying shadows, gradation, texture and etc. - Alpha lock lets you draw on the drawing you drew, for example. You make a base with any color and you use alpha lock, then you can draw anywhere and it only affects the inside of the drawing.
@justagirlexisting8 ай бұрын
Ibis is the GOAT of free mobile and tablet drawing apps lmao Also you can unlock all brushes for 18 hours if you watch an add which I really like, (and sometimes the ad doesn't load so you don't even have to watch it and it just gives you the brushes) And there's no cap to the amount of layers you can have and making a clipping mask is soo easy. Idk I just love that app, I wish there was a proper free version on pc. I use krita with my drawing tablet but ibis paint was my starter and I will probably always be biased when it comes to that app. When I'm on the go and wanna draw I will always just grab ibis and go at it with my finger cuz I have no sonar pen or stylus that is compatible with my phone 😂

Agreed, Ibis paint is great. It's the first platform I made digital art on, and while I moved to a drawing tablet from my phone, and switched to csp since then, I still use it for background editing and silly stuff. It's free and still has so many features that I've never found myself missing anything. I remember seeing a tutorial for making a stylus with aluminium foil, cotton buds, and a pencil. It was clunky and not very durable, but it's still such a nice memory!

On Medibang Paint (both versions,) you can actually turn on a setting to activate the color picker. If you go to Multi-Gesture Setting and turn on the Eyedropper Long Press setting, then hold down the Apple Pencil on the area for the color to choose, it works. I usually turn down the long press delay because it feels too long to wait the default time. Though it is a little buggy, as sometimes it just activates the brush and leaves a dot there instead of selecting the color. And if you turn on Finger Mode in the pen pressure settings, this turns your finger into a transparent version of your current brush. Switching to your pencil instead of your finger turns it back into the actual color you were using.

The problem with reviewing many apps in one video is that you don't go deep enough to notice things that you should. For example I use Art StudioPro and you missed that it has two types of stabilization, one that works like procreate, and one that works like the one in Clip Studio. You missed other things, like the when using the fill tool you can drag left or right for the tolerance and in that way you can fill shapes with certain small gaps.
@cantisanifotografo8 ай бұрын
Also if you go to the ArtStudio menu > Preferences > interface > keyboard shortcuts, you can customize everything to your keyboard the way you like. You disable "finger drawing" using the icon to the right of the 4 little squares in the top left.

@Ha-neulie8 ай бұрын
As someone who went from drawing on their cracked phone with Ibis to slowly transferring to a tablet and Procreate, I could not stress enough how you could only use a certain amount of layers with procreate. Usually, I'm only using 3-5 layers max when sketching or drawing something not-so detailed, but it becomes a hindrance when I DO use more than 5 layers, but being unable to because of the canvas size. I do like how you make brushes in Procreate and how you can delete the timelapse if you want (to save on storage, which Ibis doesn't do,) but that's pretty much it. Procreate is a little bit overrated in my opinion, but it IS worth the money in some aspects. (The UI takes a few marks off for me though.)

9:44 Art Studio Pro has multiple stabilization modes. It’s in the tool settings, and can be set globally or per brush in brush settings. It defaults to live spring which is like Procreate. The setting called Spring is more like the one you like in clip studio. In the preferences you can have it hide or show the spring. Also, change the color picker shape to a square so you can easily select black white etc in the corners. Much simpler than Procreate’s double tap thing. And, you can set it to pencil only mode with the icon in the upper left. You can disable tilt in the brush’s settings, I always do. In fact you can even control it with a curve, per setting. This app gives you more control of brush dynamics than anything else because of these curves. And, you can customize literally all the hot keys, more than any other app. Same with the quick menu, which you should check out. Set it to appear with finger double tap. Its awesome. I like procreate because I like minimalistic designs where I don’t have to press 70 buttons to get something (example: clip studio paint) imo it’s way too much it’s just overkill for me. I like procreate because like I said, it’s minimalistic and I can easily get to things not to mention the tons of brush choices which makes drawing a lot easier, but that’s just my opinion. You can like whatever drawing you find the best.

A different user already wrote something about Fresco, I want to add that Fresco is not a finished App yet. They are still working on adding things. An update came like a week ago, where they added some stuff and brushes too. :)

I am super happy to see reviews of an app I use on a daily! It makes me happy when I see good things about it, rarely ever seeing bad ones! I use Ibis paint btw!!

infinite painter is pretty good tbh, ive been using it for like 6 months edit: but i should point out, the app has got a shitton of bugs and glitches. so export your files regularly to not lose any progress lol.

I like realistic brushes 🥲 It's less messy that real life (tho i like that too) and I love exploring brush settings! The basic packs always made me feel hollow lol
@BraydenCaldwell-m9e8 күн бұрын
Something I can see that they missed as being new to infinite painter you forgot to mention you can add a reference like an image you can use to base upon when doing art and you can overlay it just gotta use the pictures in your device so yeah I can see us using a cat picture and referencing off of it when drawing

honestly I feel grateful you did this since I was trying to find a app that best suits me for drawing and stuff

erm.. I must say ibis has some more shortcut that you could only get from going through settings, but I must also admit it took me several month to notice that as well.

I’ve never used clip studio paint before but I can tell it’s the best drawing app for pros and maybe artists who draw for fun. Ibis paint x is the best FREE drawing app but the ads are annoying(I use ibis). I tried hipaint on my phone and it’s not bad but I’m not entirely sure how to import brushes(they have a whole texture pack tho which is nice). I’ve never tried procreate and I never will, IM NOT PAYING 20 DOLLARS IM TOO BROKE FOR THAT 😭. And just a question, would flipaclip count as a drawing app?

as a broke teen still in high school, i see a lot of artists, mainly pros, using CSP. i use procreate, and i think it's pretty cool, but i do agree the stabilization feels weird (i like how u compared it to icing on a cake lol 😂) the minimalist style is kinda calming for me, CSP makes me feel like i'm using Microsoft doc or something lol. i'm hoping when i get older that i can get the subscription for CSP, but i use procreate for now. in my opinion, procreate's really nice for beginner digital artists

How can y’all think the crappy lag stabilization is better lmao?
@peanutbutterBrisket998 ай бұрын
@@vismattress5760 i said in my comment that the stabilization in procreate feels weird. i never said i liked it. i only said that i like procreate's minimalist vibe. and i can't afford CSP cuz im broke.

I wonder what's your opinion on ibs now that it has gotten updates such as the double function of the eyedropper also working as a quick layer switching and a lot more stuff i probably i'm not aware of

For Ibis... Protip: Use an adblocker, or disable WiFi The canvas is still a bit smaller, but you can skip the ads

Did you check the super low latency in the settings of infinity paint? It's crazy how low the latency is. There's virtual none.

The brush stabilization of Procreate is to me the most unique and amazing thing about Procreate. There's actually nothing else about it that I really care about. Other than the brush performance, but a lot of iPad apps now have excellent brush performance. Procreate was probably the first.

Infinite painter is not a "drawing" app as much as it is a painting app, I feel like the brushes and the way everything is organized and optimized makes it very, very easy to make "artsy" and more textured works based on technique instead of tools, I totally understand people who don't get it or like it, but if you're one of the 5 people that do like that approach I highly recommend giving the app a shot. Oh and try to at least understand the UI before complaining about it

I used adobe for a long time, (I now use sketchbook) and you used….one brush….and I simply want to say, there’s a lot more u could’ve seen abt it. Its just that I’m on mobile iPad, so I don’t have much capacity for such apps. But yeah

Ibis is extremely goated for a free app ngl. I can’t get into csp as it feels too cluttered on iPad + subscription based. As a comic creator, I love all the features ibis offers that caters to that specific work, though I can’t help but notice the crisp and professional look comics made in csp looks. Buttt ibis has an option to export file to csp file + csp can read ibis file too, so if I ever got the money to spent in the future, I will choose ibis in iPad and csp in computer and interlink between them.

I use Infinite Painter and most of what you said was wrong. The App comes with a manual with everything nicely illustrated. You use the Smooth setting instead of the Lazy Too (Stabilizer), the brush size can be a lot bigger with the Size Range in the brush setting, you can drag tools and customize your tool bar, you drag out your color wheel for easy access, and many other things. 😒😒

tbh as a ibispaint x user who used to use medibang paint, i think ibispaint is more gentle w the ads. i used to get so many ads when using medibang and the premuim advertisment when loading the app wouldn’t let me draw so i just stopped using it 😦

I've always used ibis paint for drawing digitally. I draw for about 4-5 years now. People don't understand how I draw with just my finger and my phone. I haven't gotten used to my apple pencil and ipad, I can *only* draw with my finger on my phone because I'm just too used to it, but I feel like I would draw better with my ipad but I'm so unmotivated to learn

For the ads in ibis paint, you can turn Wi-Fi off so they don’t appear. The one at the top stay though along with how you still need to watch an ad to get all brushes but honestly can I ask for any more from the best free drawing app?
@JC-zv3bb4 ай бұрын
Procreate has foreground and background colors. You can actually create brushes that have different colors based on force of the pen. Also, Procreate is $9 for lifetime. It's hands down the best drawing app for the Ipad and there really is no comparison. Every app you showed and compared is a direct rip off of the best features of procreate for three times as much money.

if clip studio paint was as cheap as procreate i would use it. i also like the minimalist design of procreate because to me it has always been overwhelming to have sooo many options on screen. but i do agree that procreate have many issues (especially the cliping the mask layer to a group it drives me mad)

It kinda sucks to see how people really don't dig in to the apps full capabilities, like Fresco has vector and pixal, and honestly the animation feature is pretty good imo. I chose it over ibis paint and honestly have no regrets and still using the free version to this day. But you barley scratched the surface of the capability of all these apps which I don't blame for you since it's just for a video xd

I mean, i have like two or three art apps that i like to switch around on. Im broke so i mainly use ibispaint, And goofy UI is best when you want to just have fun and not take things seriously. Though ibispaint can get laggy when you use Max Blur.

That watercolor brush with Fresco is a pretty big deal for some people who really want that effect. Maybe I haven't played around with other programs, but sometimes you *really* want a certain watercolor paint effect such as Chinese Calligraphy Painting. So it could be really nice.... except it's Adobe. We don't use Adobe if we don't have to, for obvious reasons
