Bullying like this is actually really popular and a lot of K-dramas depict it (Weak Hero Class and The Glory are two of the most famous). In fact, everything that happens in The Glory really happened in real life and the FL in that drama has the worst bullying done to her that I've ever seen (I still can't believe it really happened!!). Apparently, there's been more and more news articles coming out where teachers in Korea have admitted to being afraid of students. Bullying there is WILD and on a whole 'nother level. I guess that's what happens to kids' brains when they're in school from 7am-10pm from a young age (another big issue in Korea that has been criticized globally).

Basically, the cellphone shop guy was talking like he was from a tough neighborhood. Since Jaewon (Huisoo's dad) was from a tough neighborhood, he recognized the "tough guy" accent, so he called him out.

I'm not sure about the laws in the South Korea, but Evan is right about self defense in the US. You don't need any injury to prove self defense, there's been numerous examples of that lmao. Whether you agree with this or not is a separate matter, but it is a fact that what she did would technically be considered self defense in the US.
