This is when The Walking Dead turned from a show I was enjoying, to my favorite show of all time. That reveal of Sophia been in the barn hit me in a way that no TV series or movie had ever done before. Traumatic, but amazing at the same time.

I don't remember if I got any further than that season, def. stopped sometime after that but that episode was absolutely harrowing and when it aired I actually couldn't believe they'd put something like that on TV, even in a show like this.

The big difference between Rick and Shane is that Shane only wants to protect Lori; I don't think he includes Carl in that equation, and he'll throw anyone to the wolves to do it. Meanwhile, Rick is thinking for the good of everyone and is thinking ahead.

Yeah he is often “right” about things, but the way he goes about it is what makes him a shit person and a bad candidate for a leader. Lori isn’t a saint, but hatred against her is dull and the fandom has always been wildly misogynistic (which you’d know, watching it in real time), you’re literally sticking up for the person who assaulted her lmaooo I will agree with you about people’s hard ons for some other important adversaries later, some of them get treated with wholly undeserved redemption. Though while I don’t stick up for them either, I will say, they are made entirely more sympathetic and/or charismatic which unfortunately is enough for a lot of people to ignore the evil. Though let’s not pretend that a lot of those folks aren’t Shane fans, too.

Shane was too damaged to ever be a true leader. His obsession with Lori overrode everything. He only acted on behalf of the group IF it served that obsession. Otherwise, there wasn't one person he wouldn't have Otis'd. Like he told Dale, if he would kill Rick, his bff, what wouldn't he do to someone else? Also, Shane would have gotten them all killed at that first campsite had Rick not found them. SO many dumb mistakes. What leader parks a pack of unarmed civilians on a mountain top with one way in or out & no bug out plan? And ostracize 2 of the very few fighters in the group (the Dixons) instead of finding a way to keep them in line? Those walkers would have slaughtered the whole group, including Shane, if it wasn't for Rick & the others coming back with the guns.

Also Rick & Shane were both needed. If Rick didn't leave more people could've possibly survived and if Rick didn't get the guns they would've suffered in the long term.

So, why did nobody know that Sofia was in the barn all the time? Let me explain this : Let's say the whole situation with walkers on the highway happened on Monday Sofia got separated from the rest of the group, Rick went after her and told her to stay in that place and wait for him to kill those 2 walkers He killed them, went back for her, but she was gone, group started looking for her but didn't find her The next day, Tuesday, Carl gets shot by Otis and group moves to the farm, Otis dies in the school This is what happened : Sofia died Monday evening or during the night, because she had to be dead by Tuesday morning - why? Because Otis was the one who finds walkers and brings them to the barn on Hershel's orders, so he found her as a walker on Tuesday morning, brought her to the barn and then went hunting and shot Carl The whole situation escalated and Otis went with Shane and died so he couldn't tell the group that he brought a girl to the farm, because everyone was focused on saving Carl at the moment, so nobody mentioned Sofia to Otis And from this misunderstanding we had to wait couple days to open the barn and find out she was there the whole time Patricia was the person who fed the walkers so she could spot Sofia among them, but maybe she was in the shadow or Patricia didn't focus on them while feeding them or didn't count them so she didn't know that Sofia was in the barn too

I've always thought that perhaps she made it Monday night, in that house Daryl found, then Tuesday she made her way toward the gunshot sound and stumbled into the barn that evening, before the group got to the farm. Meaning she walked into the barn full of walkers while trying to find somewhere safe and got bit there. Either theory works, though mine is probably more tragic because she was that close to them dying 😅

Season 2 of TWD is easily one of the most underrated seasons of ANY TV show, in my opinion. Initially everybody was all "Oh nothing happens, they just sit on a barn the whole time", but when you've got powerful emotional moments like the barn, sublime acting from the cast, and moments that will resonate with both the characters and the fans for years to come, there's far more to it than just being on a farm.

My only real complaint about S2 is it made no sense that they insisted on camping indefinitely on Hershel's yard. There are hundreds of farms in that area. Hershel had lived there his whole life AND was a country vet for 40 of those years. He would have been to nearly every farm in that area, countless times. He could have rattled off the top of his head at least a dozen nearby farms they could've looked into taking over. There is no way his farm was the "only" one safe or could be made safe. But this is an example of production budget constraints dictating poor in-universe decisions.

Daryl is the most favorite of the show. His character development all the way to the end was amazing and felt SO ORGANIC. When Daryl cries the world cries. I believe after watching the show entirely myself that lori did in fact still have feelings for shane. i think that will be shown soon enough to you guys although its not as clear as you would think.

i really feel that the otis moment made no sense. From the viewpoint that we were shown even though both of them were injured or seemed so, they had enough distance to get away. I mean even the osntant struggling between the two when Shane shot Otis in the leg, showed that the walkers were still pretty far behind. They both could have made it

Glen is the #% !! He's my favorite character; he rescued Rick from the tank, he drove a Mustang 100mph in the Zombie Apocalypse, he gets the farmer's daughter in the drug store, ropes zombies like its a game of Portal.... Glen is the man worthy of respect.
