Scattering those spores around the corn field would likely increase the yields next year. Love going back through all the old videos ive missed. God bless

What a good idea! I would never have known that corn smut would be something to eat. I had never heard of Huitlacoche. This is useful information. It’s so nice seeing your daughter by your side. I imagine that’s what your father did when you were her age. Best education ever.

Hey ! Thank you ! It is so nice to share these things with her. I did spend slot of time in the dirt with dad when he was able. He has been sick the most of my life. Thank you !

@@metcalfmills5679 I just ate some raw. It isn’t strong flavored at all. Not even a mushroom taste, but with Mexican seasoning and I’ve read about a Mexican spice ‘epazote’ that is the magical ingredient. No idea where to get that, but if I ever find some, I plan to cook some huitlacoche and epazote burritos for sure!

I have been hearing about this mushroom on some other channels recently. We are in south central KY and I've never heard of it before now. I'm wondering if it is a regional thing. I've been asking around to local corn growers to see if anyone ever gets this. It's making me think of dry land fish....a little elusive. lol

I live in Mexico so I believe I can help you with the pronunciation. In Spanish the H is silent and all vowels are very pure. A=a short "a" as in pants, E= as a long "a" such as the a in play, I= as a long "e" as in ie in piece, O= as a long o as in grow and U= a long u as in union. Therefore if your spelling is correct the pronunciation is uit-la-co-che

@@metcalfmills5679 hey Justin. I know you are busy and I watched a lot of your videos looking for something specific over the past day or so. I won’t be insulted if you do not have time to reply to all of my comments. I know this is always a very busy time of year for gardeners and farmers and you are also building a mill besides your regular work. God bless.
