Wrestling fans should recognize Brutus Beefcake, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, and Jimmy Hart in addition to Sting as the bad guy(who delivers his "I am immortal" speech twice). Hulks sidekick is played by Chris Lemmon(son of Jack Lemmon). He has stated in several interviews that Thunder in Paradise effectively killed his acting career.

When I see the reviews of this show, the only thing that comes to mind (in context of the show itself), is that scene from Billy Madison where the game show host at the end completely murders Billy verbally at the end for one of the trivia answers he gives. “… everyone in this room is dumber for having listened to you. I award you no points and may you burn in Hell.” That’s the best synopsis of Thunder In Paradise one could give.

Why do I remember this as a whole movie and not a tv series. Was there both?
@benjaminolson72065 ай бұрын
A straight to video movie served as the pilot. In syndication it became the first two episodes of the show. Evidently all the two-part episodes for the show were released as direct-to-video sequels (Thunder in Paradise II, III, and IV). Basically the producers were double dipping with the same content as both a tv series and a movie series in the video rental stores.

I think the thing about Hulk Hogan that pisses people off isn't exactly all the shitty things he's done, but the fact that he played the role of the Hero for so long. I guess he was a little worse than the others. I was never a fan of the Hulkster, tho. Ric Flair, Roddy Pipper, and Macho Man were heels, but way cooler in real life.
@markula_40405 ай бұрын
No. People don't like him because of the N word plus his reputation of politicking himself on top for most of his wrestling career. Not for playing the hero for too long.
