This is the 2nd single off of WOLFIE’S JUST FINE’S forthcoming album “Everyone Is Dead Except Us” out June 16th.
Hey friends, this song is an ode to a window of time in my childhood when the world felt simple, and unfettered and unfiltered joy was still easily accessible. A time when Hulk Hogan defeating Andre the Giant meant that everything was going to be okay for ever and ever. When playing with my WWF wrestling figurines in my backyard with my older brother was more thrilling and exciting than any roller coaster ride or $200 million dollar blockbuster film. As an adult, I rarely have access to that kind of emotional exhilaration anymore because, you know, life. However, that pure, blissful, unadulterated, child-like joy is so powerful, that even the memory of it can cause a small portion to travel through time to the present and put a silly smile on my solemn forty-two year-old face.
To add to the joy of it all, my mom makes her award-worthy acting debut here as "Grandma" and my nephews were pitch perfect as "Brothers in the late 80s playing with WWF wrestling figurines in the backyard” (Thank you to my brother Jer and sister-in-law Mel for kindly and recklessly letting me borrow the boys for the afternoon). Also a big thank you to my brother Jason for loaning me his precious collection of vintage LJN figurines, objectively the best toys ever made.

Lyrics:
We came over to Grandma’s house
'Cause we don’t have cable TV
We are silent unlike the crowd
As our hero’s brought to his knees
Why did we ever think he could win
Looks like there will be a new champion
But then Hulk Hogan slammed Andre the Giant
A moment in slow motion as time was flying
They said it was impossible
He’s five hundred and twenty pounds
I think we just saw a miracle
Like the ones that mother talks about
He drops the leg, we jump to our feet
Ninety thousand people count to three
I can’t believe Hulk Hogan beat Andre the Giant
A moment in slow motion as time was flying
And as the song begins to play
We both jump on the couch
Grandma thinks we’ve gone insane
We are screaming with the crowd
I do not know this right now
But when I am my father’s age
Whenever I’m feeling down
I will think about today
And it’ll always put a smile on my face
Remember when Hulk Hogan slammed Andre the Giant
A moment in slow motion as time was flying
Remember when Hulk Hogan slammed Andre the Giant
A moment in slow motion as time was flying

Just want to shoutout my friend and incredibly talented human Justin Slade McClain. He co-directed this video with me, was the director of photography, production designer… Basically this video is what it is because of him, and there’s no video without him. He did the filmmaking equivalent of slamming a 520lbs pound giant.

I was born in 1980. This song hits me hard. My whole family was sitting in the living room watching the first EVER PPV of WrestleMania 3. Back when times were good, Nintendo ruled the world, He-Man & TMNT was new & cool. The USSR was still a threat. Good & evil were VERY defined. None of us worried about the future or the past. Those times went too fast. Its a moment I wish was frozen in time. We were all Champions of the World back then & didnt know it.

Let me tell ya somethin, Mean Gene. I'm not crying, brother. A true hulkamaniac never cries. Not me, a 40 year old who used to have all those figures. Nope, those aren't tears they're sweat beads from a tough workout where I flexed these 24 inch pythons. Definitely not crying, I just stood too close to Slick as he touched up his Jerry Curl and got some activator spray near my eyes. Brother...

Everything about Jon Lajoie and this band absolutely blows my mind. From a time following your hilarious songs I’m now finding myself listening to your albums everyday, they’ve lifted me up daily when I’m feeling low. My fave song changes every week, at the moment it’s this, I get that moment of thinking of these amazing moments from childhood that always bring a smile to your face. Love it all and can’t wait to hear more and more in the future. Keep smashing it Jon, you’re my hero 🥰

This song made me cry in a very happy way. My brother killed himself almost 8 years ago and we grew up loving wrestling together. The song and video took me to a really really good place and made my heart feel warm. I am so grateful for the memories and for this song provoking them. Wrestling is stupid to some people, sure. But it's also a key to some powerful emotions and memories for some. This is my first time hearing this artist. I'm now a follower and I'm grateful for this introduction. Thank you for capturing something so unique and powerful.

Amazing video and song! I grew up in the 80s and my Dad bought me these figures and would surprise me with a new one every now and then. I still have them to this day. My Dad passed in 2020. Love you and miss you! This is my youth and very emotional!

This is great. Very clever and talented take on the video too. Even if we dedicated our lives to animation, this... works just fine.

I didn't witnessed that moment but i know exactly that feeling. France-Croatia in World Cup '98 when Davor Suker scored for Croatia in 46' minute. Keep up good work you funny, funny man.

Sent this video to my brother, his response: Jesus Christ, that was beautiful. If I could remember my MySpace password I would put that as my profile song.

Nice bit of '80's nostalgia. As a an additional note, I had that very ring as well as several of the wrestling figures shown.
