It's never too young to get into VFX! I was about that age when I first started looking up how to do lightsaber effects in films. 12 years later, here we are 😂

Woah i literally looked up how to do a light saber effect yesterday for ae
@AlfieVaughan2 жыл бұрын
That's where it all began 😍 when I first looked there was some software called LSmaker that was literally just for lightsabers. This was before I discovered after effects or anything. All it could do was draw them on footage with 2 points frame by frame 😂

please make a video about how to create this realistic skin shader in blender
@AlfieVaughan Жыл бұрын
I showed how I did it in this video. It's using a voronoi texture to get the skin detail and then a few combinations of texture maps for added texture
@Edithgg-y9vАй бұрын
Very good👍🏼💯, but I wonder why you didn't do a muscle simulation system to the model?
@AlfieVaughanАй бұрын
That's a pretty advanced thing to "just do"... It would have added weeks to the time spent on this video and I don't have the luxury of spending infinite time on these projects

Thank you! Yes all the project files are exactly how I left them. All the animation, simulations, render settings etc are all good to go in each one. There's also the nuke comps and the raw footage for all shots

Don't really understand how to have a CGI arm without motion capture.. Do you recommand me to do a VFX art school ?
@AlfieVaughan9 ай бұрын
I just did an object track. It's much more simple than motion capture! VFX school will help you learn the basics and be ready to get a job but it's not necessary. Depends a bit on what country you're in and what companies are there too though
@ayrtonxs59758 ай бұрын
@@AlfieVaughan and for Hulk, do you use motion capture ? :) I'm in France, and VFX schools are too expansive
@AlfieVaughan8 ай бұрын
No motion capture either. It's all hand animated. I filmed some reference of me doing the actions and then hand animated it based on that.

Heyyy dude this is really sick! I could use this for my hulk short film I made a while back! IS there instructions for the cracked mirror and the green skin and eyes in the patrons pack? Or will there be a video on how to make the green skin and eyes, etc. EDIT: I also just subbed to you 😊 my friend showed me your channel! Another edit: everything was made in blender? Not Adobe After effects, etc?
@AlfieVaughan2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I used Nuke for the compositing. Its the other software in this video. It's like after effects but it's what we use at work professionally. The project files are on Patreon for all shots so the shots like the mirror and the eyes are on there as nuke projects. If you open them up you'll be able to see how I did it. Those effects were fairly simple! I didn't include them in this video as it would make it nearly half an hour. If lots of people ask for it maybe I'll do another video about the compositing of those shots :)

If you’re animating any thing humanoid in the future you should try out rokokos free video to mocap ai. It might not be perfect but if your do some clean up it might be passable
@AlfieVaughan2 жыл бұрын
I did consider trying something like that but I always find things moving towards or further from the camera don't translate very well! It didn't take too long to hand animate it
