The battle between the Incredible Hulk and the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly has been a long-debated topic over the years. Death Battle released their take on how it would go, but it seems that their research and outcome wasn't the best that it could have been. So, was Death Battle correct, or was their reasoning wrong? Who would really win between these two goliaths?
My friend and I analyze both verses and characters in-depth to point out who would really come out on top and correct Death Battle along the way!

Thanks a lot for watching fam! Please be sure to check out the videos in the description! To cover some questions/critiques. 1. "Why did you use many different versions of Hulk?" They're all 616 Canon Hulk, they're just different power-ups and states of mind, which DB themselves used. It's not like they're a different universal version altogether. 2. "Why did you use Dr. Strange and other characters" During the classic runs, we've seen Dr. Strange during the same era fight Loki who is scared of Thor, whom Hulk has matched up against numerous times and he was even hesitant of fighting a mindless Savage Hulk. The Undying Ones were a big enough threat that they could capture Dr. Strange. Although it was Strange's plan to stay in their realm to prevent them from escaping, the narrative implies that he couldn't fight or defeat them as effectively. While the Dark-Crawler had been fighting them for a while. Generally speaking, these things scale to each other. 3. "Why did you use high-end/wank feats" Well, DB themselves mentioned the Dark-Crawler feat (which I consider an outlier) and their logic was to use the character at his "best", so that's why we mentioned these best showings for Hulk and further extrapolated on them. We said in the video that a consistent Hulk would lose. 4. "But Gogeta and Broly transcended dimensions" They did and are within the 4D level but on a lower scale than Hulk's better showings which has him affecting or destroying higher-dimensional constructs and characters.

In his most consistent non wanked Showings Hulk can't stack up to Broly but his higher and less consistent showings would slap all of Dragon Ball

It’s kind of annoying that all the big comic characters are incredibly inconsistent. You either have them just struggling to blow up a planet or less, but then they’ll have a single issue where they just destroy all time lines and dimensions because that writer just felt like making them OP that day. It doesn’t help that there are multiple writers for Marvel/DC. If comic characters were consistent between issues, then ‘what if’ vs battles would be easier to digest.

It's because sometimes the stories go big, but sometimes take it to a smaller scale. Imo it's what makes marvel more interesting than dragonball. The characters are constantly growing in power so most fights boil down to who can blow shit up better. Meanwhile in marvel sometimes strategy and unorthodox methods are used in fights to win against insanely powerful foes. U can like what u like sure but marvels "inconsistency" is because they sometimes value the story more than the power.

So to put things simply. Broly beats Hulk if we use their most consistent feats. But if we use Hulks higher end feats, then he stomps Broly and all of DBS. I personally don’t see why Hulks higher end feats shouldn’t be included, as the whole point of these debates in my opinion is to pit both characters against each other at their absolute best. Especially when it comes to characters like Hulk who always hold back and rarely ever show their full power.

Because powerlevels in comics work differently from writer to writer. ( Flash getting repeatedly tagged by humans . Those humans should by default be fast enough to dodge bullet which they are not) There are writers who cap characters at planet level while the other has the exact same character at Universal. If we include anything Batman is Universal and so is Captain America via scaling.. And every thug that hurts them is that as well via scaling chain. It makes Vs debates impossible and would be only based on outliers. People have wanked Db Heroes to 12D. There is no actual Limit to wank and use outliers but this results in a drop in quality in the vs- debate.

@@RP-zl5ix I agree too at least some degree with what you’re saying. Although many excuses can be made for things like regular humans being able to tag speedsters like the Flash. Deathstroke was once able to stab the Flash for example, but that obviously doesn’t mean Deathstroke now has immeasurable combat speed. It can just viewed as simple luck on Deathstrokes part and Flash being sloppy, which was likely mentioned in the comic. However Batman and Deathstroke actually are in fairness consistently shown to be capable of dodging bullets. But the thing with characters like Hulk, is that they don’t often show their full power. So using lesser but more consistent feats to gauge them when they aren’t at full power is in my opinion, kind of downplaying them as a result.

It's an interesting battle for sure. Agree btw they downplayed both cosmologies, and that Marvel overal has a much larger one. I think everybody would agree that if we use a consistent standard Hulk, Broly wins for sure, no contest. As for Hulks high end feats and scaling, he does indeed occasionaly somewhat compare to or even beat guys who are at times portrayed as higher dimensional or even greater, and if you chain scale him to the peak showings of everybody he ever fought then sure he wins, but I think that's like scaling Sentry to peak Molecule man since he beat MM before, or scaling the thing to peak molecule man since he could compare to him at times, or scaling Spider man to silver surfer since he gave him trouble before. I'd consider Hulk being anywhere beyond Universal+ to be to inconsistent and or outliers tbh, so imo in a reasonable comparison with consistent or even high end Hulk, Broly wins, unless you scale chain Hulk to being like Eternity level, or use outliers way beyond his normal showings, which honestly you could do to almost any long running Marvel or DC character with enough effort. I find scaling Comic characters to each other to be tricky to decide where to draw the line at, since often there power and scaling fluctuates so drastically. Personally I'd say in conclusion a consistent standard Hulk loses hard, even high end Hulk with Universe level+ power and multipliers loses but in a closer battle, but including outliers and scaling chains for a full wank Hulk, Hulk would win.

Toriyama makes it impossible to properly scale his characters, because he doesn't want to commit to any specific system of measurement of power. Therefore, Dragon Ball characters are capable of being inconsistent with their power, simply because of bad writing. On the other hand, we have Hulk, who has MANY different versions of himself, each one having different feats and personalities. This fight was inconsistent from the beginning. It's just meant to look cool.

Transformations only as powerful as the base. And in the universal tournament goku fought the bald alien jiren guy at his base and didnt outright die so his base is already stronger than when he was when he fought broly with super sayian blue. But that was when he was coming off of imperfect ultra instinct/spirit bomb power up boost. Id scale blue vegito at somewhere way below ultra instinct perfect goku. Its not just raw power anymore but the abilities granted like auto dodging. The whole universe\dimension traversal. They already did that in dragon ball universe and no ones minds are collapsing on their own because probably ki. Ki is the universal ass pull for dbs. The more characters have of it the more feats and abilities they can do. Imo its unfair to compare a more detailed information dc has on its feats and what x things does. If they meet dbs half way on equal grounds db characters win flat out. Only saying this because dc character are too grounded even with their reality shattering feats. But on the broly vs hulk, hulk wins no question. Comparing latest dbs manga and the broly fight, krillin would probably bitch slap broly at this point (not really but you get the point). But we dont know how much broly improved since then because there is no damn info.

Even with all this scaling, even if someone were to argue "nuh uh Broly is a billion times stronger than Hulk" it still ignores the fact that Death Battle was using IMMORTAL HULK. The entire idea is that as long as he access to the Green Door through The One Below All, he'll come back. So even if Broly would honestly kill Hulk the way he did in the battle, that complete disintegration wouldn't stick. Hulk "dying" would provide a HARD RESET. The only way for Broly to truly end the fight would be if he could kill TOBA itself which... haha, NO. Don't even joke like that. Honestly just put the video on loop at the point Hulk arrives in a weird green meteor and call that the true ending, in that it would never end if the Death Battle people knew anything about Hulk as he currently operates. Putting Broly up against a being that will live past someone named Mr. Immortal and see the end of time itself and cross over to the next reset of reality itself, and thinking there'd be any scenario where Broly definitively wins? Ridiculous.

The whole point of Goku V Superman 2 was that they basically wanted to kill the hate they got for the first Death Battle by saying "Superman wins logically independent of strength, because he has no limits (and thusly is infinite)". While also using a composite Superman from numerous different canon to create one whose sole purpose is to be whatever is stronger than Goku (who they low-balled). Now anyone with actual knowledge of how this stuff works would tell you there are scales to infinity (or would say a character is immeasurable), and that if Superman had this fiction destroying power of infinity as DB seems to believe that anyone who has beaten Superman would also have it or anyone who makes him struggle (as 1% of infinity is still infinity). This means Batman would be infinite, but it also means random Gotham thugs would be infinite, which means random civilians in DC would also be infinite, do you see the problem yet?

In summary; in death battle they were wrong (no surprise to anyone, they have done it before)... If we talk about the recurring version of the hulk, savage hulk, broly would have some chances to win although I do not think he will exceed it. But if we talk about superior versions like Green skars, world breaker, mindless and immortal, victory goes to the hulk... That makes more sense. Also, it is noted that the death battlers were completely unaware that the immortal hulk is a TOBA avatar; the bottom line if broly wants to completely beat the hulk, he too would need to beat TOBA, which... is RIDICULOUS.

I think when doing Marvel or DC characters(or really any character with multiple different incarnations) it would help if they picked a version of them to run with in each battle. Instead they play around with cherry picking only the feats to support whatever result they think will generate the most buzz. People commonly see Hulk as being unbeatable in a slugfest, so they have Hulk lose in slugfests to other big beefy characters and do whatever feat manipulation they need to in order to justify it to the masses who don't know enough to distinguish the various incarnations being used.

The biggest thing Death Battle messed up with Broly was use Kale's weakness that her power was literally killing her despite continuously becoming stronger. Neither iteration of Broly has that problem. I get why they would include her when building him up but that weakness never should have been discussed. addition: There is a lot to discuss to in regards to which material you use because the manga handles things differently. One key point in that is that both Goku and Vegeta are technically stronger than their anime self due to having Master Super Saiyan Blue. Which now brings up the question "Do you combine the two cannons? Or which do you choose?"

I think Marvel, over the years, has just been too inconsistent with the power levels and the scale of their power levels. Of course a comic written in the 60's, 70's or even beyond may have made the mistake to call the universe infinite, because that was the concept of the universe at the time. Only recently, within the last 10 years or so, have "realistic" measures of the universe been taken. Though, the imaginary universes in games and comics can of course differ. Also, Marvel characters seem to be more or less powerful depending on not only which arc they are they are in, but which universe within that arc. These death battle series would be far better off taking the most recent canon iterations of the characters if they want an entertaining video because, as the video said, they have decades of writing, rewriting and power scaling to contend with. At the last parts of a story line, they scale to multi-extra-trans dimensional beings, only to be fighting "basic" city or world threatening beings in their next arc. Dragon Ball series seem to be a little more consistent in that regard but began to write themselves into corners when they made the most powerful beings in the universe and scaled the other characters to them. In other words, their is a top limit to their power, where as in Marvel, if they reached a limit in a previous storyline, they can just rewrite a new story for the character and have them gain new powers.

My entire take is that all Marvel and DC characters should get sidelined and instantly forfeit. As other people have noted, Hulks scalings are mad inconsistent and don't even make logical sense (due in part to the many different writers that have taken the mantle). If we take hulk's most consistent showings (in regards to what representations are closest/have the smallest power differences), as is what one *should* do with these types of debates, then Broly wins by a country mile. It's only when you take the broken bullshit that Hulk pulls out of his ass in that one singular comic (cause that writer really liked the hulk growing up), then yeah sure ofc he's gonna take it. Tl;Dr, broly wins in a consistent comparison, but Hulk only wins if you super simp over him and include every little obscure and broken thing he's ever done.

Hulk goes from indestructible and really strong to some Galactic Hulk BS, back to normal og levels of Hulk power, then shoots up to destroying "infinity", then tapers back down to somewhere between regular hulk and galactic hulk. You can't even come close to mapping out a consistent power basis in that. DBS, on the other hand, does do random limit shattering BS. The thing here is that it's still consistent, used as a teaser more than anything. Take the tournament of power for example, Goku got imperfect UI for a bit, then MUI for another bit, then went almost a full Saga without being able to reliably tap into either. Yeah he had some "inconsistent" jumps in power, but those were one time things before he was brought back down to normal DBS goku and made to powercreep over time. Dragonball is consistently inconsistent, which is still easy to work with in these types of conversations as you can reliably determine a reasonable state and expectation of power for the encounter.

The problem I see with some fans of dragonball is how heavily they downplay marvel. I always see people where when bringing up characters like goku, the 1st thing they say is the Battle of gods universe shaking event, which is cool and all, but to a decent chunk of the marvel universe, that feat is a drop in the bucket. And when u bring this up to them, they then ONLY quote the mcu events, which if we being honest, would get SHIT on by main marvel comics. I'd say even Spiderman from the comics would fare much better against no gauntlet thanos than most of the MCU heroes did. It's just frustrating tbh.

Knuckles can punch the Super out of Super Sonic while he's moving at Super Sonic speeds (that's a lot of Super and Sonic in one line). He can use Chaos Control to become Hyper Knuckles/Super Knuckles. He can survive in the intense heat of Lava Reef without any protection. He can survive in the vacuum of space (although this can be due to everything having it's own atmosphere, but maybe Sonic's Species are built different from Humans where they don't need as much Oxygen). He is able to fight Super Charged beings without needing to go Super himself (Heavy King and Mecha Sonic). Donkey Kong frequently loses to Mario in those wind-up strategy games when he kidnaps Pauline. Mario who outright gets shafted by a non-super powered Sonic.

Despite Death Battle's claims that Hulk's rage is limited by Bruce still being human, and that there's a limit to how long he can stay as the hulk, I know that multiple beings of near omnipotent power and knowledge have tried to find a limit for the hulk and failed. Hulk can grow stronger the madder he gets and there's no limit on how mad or strong he can get. He could definitely win this. And no, I'm not referring the only when Beyonder said it. It's something the comic book writers themselves have also said. The Hulk possesses the capacity for essentially limitless physical strength. In proportion to his rage, it grows exponentially towards infinity without never really reaching it. In an interview, Jack Kirby revealed that since the conception of the character he intended the Hulk to have unlimited strength. In actuality, while the highest hierarchical challenges mentally imposed by Banner to the Hulk may not reflect the real characters' power level, it was implied that the Hulk's ultimate potential truly has no limits. I'm a DBZ fan and I wanna point out one specific thing that infuriates tf out of me when it comes to debates for DBZ characters. They're the only fanbase I've seen where statements magically matter more than actual feats. DBZ characters got shitty durability feats, their combat speed while impressive hasn't been clarified beyond faster than the eye can see, and their physical strength feats aren't very consistent either. DBZ fans love to make HUGE leaps in logic and a lot of shaky assumptions with little to no evidence. Broly has a shitton of assumptions being made with very little feats to back it up. Broly has a lot of destructive power. That's cool. He has almost no durability feats, very few speed feats that would even place him beyond light speed, and his strength feats while somewhat impressive don't match the Hulk's. They also ignored just how much Hulk's healing factor would matter for this battle, no freaking way broly is destroying all of Hulk's atoms given his durability feats and his healing factor, that's just blatant bullshit. I love DBZ but stop acting like the guide books hold more weight than actual feats guys.
