22:29 The problem with this is that he CLAPPED mans and Brian away in the devil hulk form. No amps. We see a look of anguish and shock on TOBAS frame. He wasn't able to counter it and took the full brunt of the clap and both he AND Brian were gone. "That brought us a minute" means that TOBA was put on his ass and couldn't immediately reform. He was knocked out basically. To knock someone out u have to be at least IN their ballpark, as when was the last time a 4 year old with just it's hands put a fully grown fully trained man on his ass? Even if TOBA was just an Avatar, the form he is in doesn't really matter, as abstracts can have M-bodies that are STILL insanely powerful. Eternity could appear as a small ball of weed but that doesn't mean u could blaze him up and smoke that eternity kush. They still have a relevant amount of power in whatever form they take. Especially since the below place is HIS world, it's questionable if he even NEEDS an avatar there and if he does, it's Brian himself, who was also slapped away by hulk. With just the FORCE from clapping his HANDS together, not even a PUNCH.

The animation was anything but “epic”. Hulk looked like he was from a PS2 game. Broly looked like he was from a low budget mobile game. And the movements were so stiff. None of the movements looked fluid or natural. It was like watching a stop motion picture. And the sound effects, my god. None of the physical attacks sounded like they had any impact or force behind them whatsoever. It was not what was expecting from a season finale.

@@thefastrightptg5048 First of all, the art style has nothing to do with how the models actually move. You can't blame stiff and janky movements on the art style. Animation refers to how the characters move. Broly and Hulk looked like they were toy figures being picked up and thrown around by a toddler. Secondly, what the art style does for how the models look can help influence the models, but only certain characteristics like hair and face, and other unique features the character has. They attempted to imitate the art style from the Broly movie for Broly's model, but they didn't do that good of a job. And I don't even know what they did with Hulk, but it didn't look good at all.

**Hulk VS Broly Q&A Summarized:** 1) 3:47 - *"Why was Umar used as a multiplier for Hulk? Isn't it more of a stamina feat than a strength feat?"* - Given that Hulk's other stats such as speed and durability also scale to his strength in other transformations, it's logical to conclude that stamina and strength also go hand-in-hand. Granted, Liam admits he only chose the Umar feat due to the comedic factor of Hulk in bed with a powerful witch-demon lady; a more reliable multiplier is Hulk's Pandora feat, which demonstrates a 133x multiplier rather than the 120x multiplier given by the Umar feat, although it's worth noting that the 133x multiplier still doesn't come close to evening out Broly's strength advantage which would still be at least hundreds of times greater than Hulk's 133x multiplied strength. 2) 5:44 - *"Why did you say Broly from the **_Z_** era and Broly from the **_Super_** era are the same characters?"* - They did and they didn't; though many Dragon Ball fans might (and did) complain about the dubiousness of claiming the two Brolys are the same, Death Battle actually meant that they were using _Z_ Broly to justify and explain what his _Super_ era self could do, no different than how they used _Skylanders_ Spyro to corroborate what the _Legends_ version could do. They did not actually composite Broly, just used research for one to complement the other. This is the same reasoning for why Kale was used, as despite Kale and Broly obviously being different characters, Kale's similar abilities that she demonstrates can be extrapolated and compared to Broly's to determine what he can do. 3) 7:43 - *"Having gone through this, how do you think **_Z_** and **_Super_** compare as shows?"* - Not really a question aimed at the research team, just a personal inquiry from Sam for Liam. He thinks _Super_ has more issues regarding its storytelling and is a bit too derivative of _Z_ although _Super_ Broly is far better than his _Z_ counterpart specifically, but prefers the _Dragon Ball_ manga above anything else in the franchise. 4) 9:09 - *"Tabs said that **_Z_** Broly has healing capabilities, but that's not true. It also says **_Super_** Broly uses Senzu beans, but that's also not true. Where are you getting this false information?"* - _Super_ Broly was explicitly seen with a bag of Senzu beans at the end of the movie, and while he's not shown eating them, it's obvious to conclude that he's using them, and it should be noted that the use or non-use of Senzu beans wasn't ultimately a major factor in deciding the outcome. As for the healing part, this is honestly a bit more dubious given that while Broly apparently survived being blown to bits at the end of his first appearance and is then seen majorly injured but clearly _not_ exploded to smithereens, but again, not a major factor; just Death Battle covering their bases with the information they had. 5) 11:33 - *"Can't Hulk come back from total disintegration? Because The Leader has done that. Why would the hypothalamus matter if the Hulk could simply regenerate from it via the Green Door?"* - This has some problems. The question itself references a flashback in which The Leader is disintegrated, but the Green Door is indicated to have brought him back. First of all, there are no details given about this sequence; specifically, regarding how _long_ the resurrection process took. In some cases, the Green Door's process is instantaneous, but other times it takes months to bring the user(s) back. Importantly, those cases where it took months were also ones in which the hypothalamus was destroyed, and it's explicitly stated in-canon that Bruce's hypothalamus is crucial to his transformations' features including regeneration. Considering that the Hulk himself has never come back from total disintegration, and in fact his healing factor has been overtaxed and broken by beings _far_ below _Super_ Broly's level of power (Zeus, Sentry, etc), it's highly unlikely that the Green Door would bring him back from that level of obliteration, at the very least not for a significant while. 6) 14:15 - *"Would Broly be **_calm_** enough to eat a Senzu bean mid-fight?"* - It depends on how angry he is; though Broly is never seen actually using a Senzu bean, that's not enough to completely discredit the idea that he can use them. Again, however, that's not an important factor of the fight; considering that Broly's MAXIMUM power is proven to be leagues above Hulk's (easily enough to overtax his healing factor and obliterate his body), it's extrememly unlikely that Broly would even _need_ to eat a Senzu bean given that his strength and durability levels are hundreds if not thousands of times greater than what Hulk can dish out. 7) 15:26 - *"Why wasn't the statement that Marvel's universe is one trillion light-years wide included to increase its size and therefore Hulk's power [because he's powerful enough to destroy the Marvel universe]?"* - It was, but Liam points out that if new evidence for a character's abilities and/or limits are recieved _after_ the research period is conducted, it won't always make it in (examples being Carnage's upgrade to Dark Carnage or Mario's higher feats not yet being included in the original Mario VS Sonic). Liam did the math, but the highest multiplier that could be given to Hulk is 96,000x Universe-level. While a massive upgrade, it's still below Broly's highest strength level (scaling to Gogeta Blue, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan + Kaioken Goku and his and Vegeta's other forms that are vastly higher than Super Saiyan God Goku's Multi-Universe power). Ultimately, the outcome doesn't change. 8) 16:20 - *"Was Broly lowballed? Death Battle didn't calculate his highest strength output!"* - Not actually one of the seen questions, but Ben did note how many people were upset that Broly's highest power output wasn't exactly estimated as opposed to Hulk's 133x (now 96,000x) multiplier. The reasoning why they didn't do this is as simple as Broly's max power just _can't_ really be exactly calculated; while Blue Gogeta is obviously leagues higher than SSGSS Blue Goku who is in turn thousands of times greater than his 9x Universal SSG form, there's no way to reliably calculate Blue Gogeta's power in a way that everyone can agree on. The fact is, just based on the minimum assumptions of Goku and Vegeta's Super form multipliers, how strong they are in their new base forms and the fact that Broly can contend with their fusion with Blue power, Broly's current maximum is far, _far_ beyond anything Hulk can reach even as the fearsome Worldbreaker, and that's ultimately the important thing. 9) 18:41 - *"Hulk survived to be the last person alive in the universe, he's so powerful that the Devil [One Below All] saw fit to take over his body, why didn't you use this form?"* - Partially correct, partially _incorrect;_ simply put, it's actually _not_ the Hulk. It's just the One Below All puppeteering Hulk's body with his own power, no different than Parallax Hal or Batmanhattan. Using this form wouldn't be Broly versus Hulk, it would be Broly versus One Below All... and as epic as that match would be, it's simply not what the matchup is, which is Hulk VS Broly. 10) 22:30 - *"Why doesn't Hulk scale to the One Below All?"* - Put plainly, Hulk's top strength just isn't up to One Below All's. It's explicitly stated in the actual episode that Hulk's best attacks could only buy him and his allies some time to escape, nowhere near actually defeating or even serously harming the One Below All. This is even shown in the story where One Below All possesses the Hulk's body, during which the Hulk's power output is _vastly_ superior to anything Hulk could do previously even as Worldbreaker. Not only is this supported by the One Below All automatically scaling to The One _Above_ All (who makes Worldbreaker look like an ant), but also because it's explicitly revealed that the gamma radiation that powers the Hulk's entire ability set is in fact the One Below All's own power, no different than Doctor Strange's power being drawn from the Vishanti. It would make zero sense for the Hulk to be as powerful as the same primordial being whose power fuels his abilities. 11) 24:11 - *"Why did you use the **_Dragon Ball_** Daizenshuu [when scaling Broly to Goku and Vegeta's current transformations]? That's old information and doesn't apply to **_Dragon Ball Super!"_* - No, the Daizenshuu very much still applies, especially since Goku's original 9x Universe-level Super Saiyan God form _became_ his new base from that point onward. There is some debate over whether Super Saiyan Blue follows the same multiplier as the lesser Super Saiyan forms, but even then, Death Battle only applied it to Super Saiyan 3 compared to Goku's new 9x Universe-level base form which is vastly inferior to _Super_ Broly's maximum. Ultimately, there's no reason to think the Daizenshuu should be considered "out of date" in this matchup. 12) 26:35 - *"How was Hulk calculated to be faster?"* - Quick question, quick answer: Hulk scales to Thor's speed feat ot traversing the Marvel universe which was found to be faster than the universe-spanning ki shockwaves caused by Super Saiyan God Goku and Beerus' first clash (which Broly scales to). Hulk isn't faster by a vast amount though, and as repeatedly stated before, Broly's vastly higher strength and durability were what mattered. *The winner is **_Broly._* Thank you for reading!

I still have my doubts on the "Universal Base". All of that is being based off the single statement Beerus said MID FIGHT when Goku dropped out of SSG, and I assumed the intention was that Goku still had FUMES of SSG in him at the time boosting him during fight, not that he permamently absorbed it in base. The original intent was even explained in Manga, that their bases didn't improve much and it was only new forms that gave them big power boosts. Now you could say that, obviously, Manga and Anime canon are different but would they genuinely make them THIS different on purpose? Manga was confirmed to have 60-70% of storyboarding be done by Toriyama, while DBS's anime has a writing staff that has less toriyama input than that and apparently they at first couldn't agree on Goku situation, the original plan was meant to be that Goku will ONLY have one god powered base and then Blue, but other forms returned but not all writers were on board with that. It is why "Saiyan Beyond God" is not a base, but rather stated as separate form that required extra concentration that had actual Promotional Info being given to those that went to cinema to watch the movie. It was basically ritual-less unmastered SSG, until they managed to just use SSG properly. Enough to let you go into SSB if you transform. That is why Copy Vegeta one shot SSJ3 Gotenks. Otherwise you'd have to have everyone, even universe 6 saiyans, be in base as strong as SSG when they barely discovered super saiyan forms. And again, it'd be anime only, this situation doesn't have any problem in manga since that one just... uses SSG, had no conflicts between writing staff, they knew what to do. Even then, Broly still manages to scale ENOUGH to defeat Hulk, so that doesn't really matter. Hulk's universal clap feat, however, is incorrect. It happened within Dark-Crawler's(Night-Crawler's) own pocket dimension and it was not the clap itself. It was the clap turning back Dark-Crawler's own sonic waves made of his power... upon his own world, making it destroy itself. I'd say power of someone that created their own dimensional space should be more effective at destroying it, and we were never given the actual size of that dimension. But it was the resonant FREQUENCY that destroyed it rather than the power of clap. Otherwise why would Hulk's body, pupeteed by One Below All, require ten billion years to destroy life and planets in the universe to render it dead, especially when it was AFTER he consumed Sentience of the Universe?

My only question is that if I recall correctly that during the post-analysis that they gave Super Broly a Force Field and Paralysis ability which should be exclusive to Z Broly (although I'm not sure if Super Broly has done one or the other in his Super Film as I haven't watched it). Shouldn't these abilities be omitted? And if not, did these abilities really contribute anything to the research? Here's the quote: _"When Hulk did close that gap, Broly's force field and paralysis protected him up close."_

​@@blackmercury2796 Paralysis is literally Super Broly's ability, Z Broly was never known for it. Force Field was also something Super Broly did, although he didn't try to use it to defend, more so to flex and then shoot blasts. Or Ram people, within DBFZ which is trying to be accurate to source material in every way but even then, I assume they are not talking about the spherical force field but rather just using Ki to enhance durability which any DBZ character can do? They weren't clear but that would defend one against blows. Users of that were: Goku against King Piccolo, Gohan to save Krillin and Piccolo during Garlic Jr Saga, Future Gohan when fighting Androids second time, Vegeta's father used it in flashback, Vegito used it to prevent himself from being assimilated, Lord Slug tries it. Z Broly, as baby, does it, Dr Lychee did it in Plan to Eradicate Saiyans, Bojack and Cooler do it. Gohan does it in Broly's second coming, Vegeta does it in Wrath of Dragon to protect civilians, Goku and Vegeta do it when they fight Universe 9 and also Jiren did it, and then Frieza, Goku and 17 did it to stop Jiren's final blast. And many more that are more filler than even these or just unnamed Unless the Paralysis+Force Field was meant to be one thing and they were just talking about Broly's mimiced God Bind.

10:04 not that this factored into the results, it's more an issue with how DB interprets information: Broly doesn't have self-healing. While there's an argument that both versions of Broly can be considered the same character, the DBZ movies are still not at all canon. Broly coming back for his 2nd DBZ movie was never explained, they just wanted to bring the character back to pit against Gohan. Extrapolating some kind of healing factor from a massive plot hole is just bad research.

@MP Did you not watch the full video? Goku gives Broly Senzu Beans at the end of their movie together. Meaning Broly does now have Senzu Beans on his person. And as they bring up, his non-existent use of them doesn't change the fact that he received them, and the only thing that would limit his use of them would be whether or not he could eat them. Which he obviously can. It's called "covering bases." Take Goku vs Superman 1 for example. They used Super Saiyan 4 despite the fact that GT isn't considered canon and some people complain about this fact. But anyone with a functioning brain can agree that not using Super Saiyan 4 would have people claiming that the transformation wasn't included because it would give Goku the win. So it was included. Broly's potential healing ability, seen in DBZ, is mentioned in a tab solely to bring up that Broly does have the ability to heal himself. The same tab mentions the Senzu Beans. But it is only a tab because it doesn't fully change the outcome of the fight, as Broly is far too strong for Hulk. That's also why they don't mention that Broly's slower speed is made up for by his transformations. Speed alone wasn't going to put the fight into Hulk's favor if he wasn't stronger.

@@justinalicea1590 SS4 was also added in at the time because people were still confused as to whether DBGT was canon or not, regardless, they used it with fan outcry also being a possible reason to. They used non-canon material back then due to their old research methods allowing them such as the non-canon films that contradicted Goku's powers or so. This is also the reason why Superman was super OP and broken because the rule set they use to have gave Superman too much leeway. There’s one remaining problem/complaint I have with Hulk vs Broly that no one has seemed to address yet. Which is that Death Battle specifically used DBS Broly, and that version of Broly cannot, nor has he ever showcased the ability to survive in space like the one in DBZ, who is a completely different character. However Hulk and Broly were clearly fighting in space, which means that Broly should’ve died the moment moment the planet blew up.

They continue this in many of their Death Battle Casts. Nothing of the fight is meant to be taken as law. It doesn't determine the verdict and isn't meant to be accurate if entertaining is more important. After all, Goku vs Superman 2 has everyone completely pissed because Superman straight up walked through a Kamehameha without any effort. When that is exactly how Superman would handle such an attack due to his complete superiority at a maximum potential. In an accurate Dragonzord vs Mechagodzilla, Dragonzord's spear would have shattered against Mechagodzilla's much tougher armor. Hell, Green Lantern wouldn't have even been affected by the pulse blast, given it only reaches universal after days of charging and at base just sends people a few yards away. But because the fight has to be entertaining, those inaccuracies to their research are allowed. And no, nothing about the Earth being destroyed would have killed Goku in Goku vs Superman. If the planet is destroyed, Goku would suffocate because he needs air to breathe, while Superman does not. If Goku blows up the sun, the supernova would have incinerated him while Superman would survive. And even if Goku got away, that still leaves a Superman in space with no way for Goku to fight him, giving Superman all the time he needs to find whatever star he likes, charge up, and then completely incinerate Goku on whatever new planet he teleported to.

27:30 In relation to this, i think it's important to note that you can kind of get a really good idea of how fast Broly gain's power because the fight scene in Dragon Ball Super: Broly is about an hour long and there aren't really very many cuts in it. So with 2 transformations and about 30 minutes(About the time Vegeta and Goku left to go fuse), broly was powerful enough to overpower both of them. The hulk on the other hand seems to take anywhere from days to months of festering rage to reach the level he has in The Immortal Hulk. So the rate by which their power increases is definitely different. I still want to see a few obscure fights, so my annual Maka Albarn and Soul Eater VS Cou Van Gurret and Reverie Metherlance is coming and will continue to come until i see it in a deathbattle.

I would have been shocked if hulk won, considering dragon ball is based around power scaling and the feats done by the characters before the new ones, narratively. Having buu scream and rip through dimensions, having super saiyan god goku pretty obviously made to be stronger than that, and super saiyan god goku being at most 70% beerus, who was then compared to broly by goku in power. This is is a missmatch, in my opinion, especially seeing vegeta from the saiyan saga was claiming to be able to destroy the planet.

Other way around there. Think of the hulk as a fire getting more fuel for it. It will get smoking, but it cannot get to its highest potential fast. Broly just shoots up in power. He doesn't even have a limit to his power technically yet. On top of being a sayain so he can always get better. As he stands now though, he still doesn't have a limit. Just from the movie (super) the forms he kept up with are far,far,FAR, superior to the hulk at their weakest potential for the form itself.
