I love the Crown Vic I picked up a 2007 for $1300 at a NC surplus auction. It's such a fun car to drive and it's comfortable unlike the Dog Charger I picked up. Fun to drive but highly over rated in my opinion.

Thanks for stopping by this morning for the Caprice PPV vid. I probably should have gone a bit higher on the bidding, especially for this car. I think it was worth the money but that 12.5% buyers fee was stupid high. I also don't think there was any 'meat on the bones' to resell that Caprice for a few bucks.

Miss your videos. Used car market is crazy right now. I unloaded an 08 P71 with 136k excellent shape for 5250. Turned around and bought an 11 Impala 9C1 with 125k for 4,000. Paid a bit more than I wanted, but it’s really clean. Keep the vids coming!

I was checking this out too. I have 2011 2 tone caprice with 93k no issues with engine. Might paint it a black. And put wheels. I have daily 2004 suburban blk z71 which is my baby, ive put alot of work into it. The difference i like in 2011 vs other is the bumper has cool insert.

Man all trucks have sky rocketed in price recently. Trucks going for 7k and up but 2 years ago you could get for 2,500$.. its nuts I gave up on trucks people are nuts wanting 8,000$ for a 2003 Ranger Lol those are 3,500$ tops. Love the channel

That price is about right - for the market right now (and the market is bananas). At the last auction I saw a 2012 9C3 with spotlight (but better interior with 9C3 center console), 68K miles, black paint in "fair to poor" condition go for a winning bid of $13,400 and that gets another 2% internet buyers fee added on. There was also a white 2013 9C1 with standard white paint and 87K miles that sold for a winning bid of $9000 and it's twin from 2012 same miles went for $6,600.

@@hullinger damn. looks like you really need another one if you dream about it! shes a great daily driver, not so much in winter though. so far so good, no body damage and regular maintenance. i have had to get the wiper linkage fixed twice and some vacuum leaks sorted out. anyways if i find a nice one for sale i'll email you. there is a nice one for sale in reading but its a civilian model with a vinyl roof

A clean running and driving 2013 Oreo (black and white) with 102k on the clock recently sold for $5.2k (inc. buyer's premium) at the Seattle auction. An all black 2015 with 118k was $7.6k.

Great video. I have seen very few Dodge Avengers as government cars, but I see one here. They seem tailor made for it. Cheap, plain, get the job done. Chargers on the other hand, yes. All the time.

We just sold a bunch of Caprices not too long ago they were 2013 and 17 and they went as high as $12,000 a piece and they had almost a hundred fifteen thousand miles on it the 17 only hit 93,000 is it sold for almost fifteen Grand so that's a very good deal what you got and the people were lining up there was 183 bits form hey how's the charger

Wow man, thanks for sharing those retail prices on Caprice PPV's. That's a whole lot of money especially when I was able to buy these for half that this time last year. And as for that Charger, she's super sweet. I finished paint correct recently, the front bumper is out getting repainted, got newer tires, went with the little dog dish hubcaps too. I can't wait to get back to driving her again and doing an update video.

K9, highly recommend to stay away from them. Its REALLY tough to get rid of the dog smell, rear seats/door panels are often missing. Also they are left running constantly. I can't tell you how many engine swaps I have done on k9 vehicles.

Remember I went to look at one in wilmington and 2013 same color with carpet but engine rattled/clapped when guy started it up initially then sounded ok. I was probably only one who looked at it. It sold for 12k plus back few months ago.

@@hullinger yes I just brought mine, the 2 tone keep in mind from Maine about 3 months ago 6001 plus 12.50 fees 6700. Plus trailer and drove from long island ny. I already did fresh oil change, fluid filmed frame, Air filter,cabin filter, and new slotted and drilled brakes. N brought rear right passenger side glass chrome. N had to take off with 3 adhesive erasers to remove all Police decals. Only 92k on it and don't drive it a daily. I just removed front seats to detail interior which is dirty, pd never cleaned. Considering starting a channel 🤔 to show my progress.

Hey bud, thanks for stopping by. That 12.5% buyers fee seems to be at the discretion of the agency selling the cars. It also seems fairly common with GovDeals auctions, which this car was listed through. I typically go to the state auction which is through USgovBid and the state has always sold their cars with no buy fee or any other fees. It's one of the reasons I usually stick with state auctions here.

Funny you ask about insurance. I have Geico and when I had my Caprice PPV, Geico didn't have it listed as a vehicle in their system. Instead they insured it as a Chevy Impala and so insurance was super cheap.

Oh right, the PPV designation stands for Police Pursuit Vehicle and it's the callout that Chevy uses for their high speed pursuit police cars. Ford calls their police cars Interceptors and Dodge uses Pursuit.

Those Caprice PPV's are pretty sweet cars. They're shockingly fast, handle better than anyone would expect and being a police car, they have heavy duty everything. Definitely one of the best kept secrets out there. The problem is that secret is slowly seeping out and prices have crept up quite a bit over the past several months. Regardless though, I appreciate you checking out my Caprice PPV video.

Parts are still available, BUT expensive. Car I just worked on 2013 muffler was $900. Cat flex pipe, had to buy entire cat assembly for $1k. No aftermarket available for 6l. Had one fabricated in by muffler shop.

Those exposed wires on the Caprice seem pretty innoculous to me. Those wires weren't connected to anything and were just cut at both ends and not removed from the car. I figure they were connected to lights, controllers and radios
