Many depts require the accuracy to be checked w/ the fork before and after every shift where radar is to be used. My DOD failed at 48,242 about ten days after the warranty expired for age and I just did all the extra mods you mentioned in the video. So yeah, there is no set mileage on what mileage it can fail at. Also, mine was ordered with everything working and did not have a cage, lightbar or push bar which is good. Bought it in 2013 with 16k miles and it now has 55k miles, it is not a daily driver.

Awww man, that garage idea I had is a far ways away. Might be a year or two into the future. I did almost buy a little piece of land about 40 minutes away and deep into farm country here. Just a half acre but it was zoned that allowed me to do anything I wanted on it. Plus, and this was the best part, there was a billboard on the property that paid $500 per month. It was like buying the land and getting all my money back after 8 years. I was a few days too late in getting an offer in and I still kick myself for not seeing the listing a week earlier. Otherwise, that sweet little grassy lot would have been mine, ALL MINE!

The really nice thing about the pre 2015 Caprices is you can put Middle Eastern market Caprice or Pontiac G8 interior parts in it if you want to complete and civilianize the interior. The 2015-2017 cars have a much better looking interior but are more difficult to do as there is a column shifter to relocate and you would have to use SS Sedan parts which are stupidly expensive

@@hullingeryou could enjoy the Holden experience by rebadging them to Holdens (this car in Australia is called the Holden Statesman). The most prevalent Holden rebadge though is that on the Chevy SS (that car in Australia is called the Holden Commodore). But the craziest conversion to a Chevy SS or a Pontiac G8 is being being done by a company in Denver called Left Hand Utes. They import Holden Ute bodies from Australia and marry them to the internals of a SS or G8, thus one can get a Holden Ute pickup truck! For those who want to experience the El Camino experience and own a Holden in the US without the 25-year rule, this is the one to get!

Thanks man for checking in. I'd LOVE to get an authentic, real deal Holden here, but it just can't happen until the cars 25 years old. There are folks here that take the Caprice PPV and over time convert it to a Holden by buying all of the unique and special Holden parts from AUS and adding them to their car. That is, everything but the right hand drive.
@brett_hall4 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen some examples of the Chevy SS and Caprice PPV converted back into Holden’s. Interestingly the Caprice PPV was never used for police work in Aus, it was for export only. Police here used the Commodore only. In Aus the Caprice was sold as the top of the line long wheelbase luxury model. Most were sold as Luxury hire cars like the Lincoln Towncar in the USA. Unfortunately no more local production of cars here since 2017, such a shame.

Why, yes that IS a Crown Vic in the driveway. That car is an utter mess and I bought it sight-unseen. It was wildly misrepresented and I got wildly screwed on it, but then again that's how some of these auctions go. There are so many issues with that car and I'm not really sure what I even want to do with it and if I even want to put any $$$ into it. I'm somewhere around $1200 into it just getting it home. It's a 1994 LX model with 48K miles on the odometer but the condition of the car makes me think it's more like 248K miles. Jeesh! That turd definitely deserves it's own video that I'll make shortly and you'll see up close just how bad it is. Stay tuned!
