God Bless you too sir! You sell some of the best axes out there. No funcy bllsht, your's are the real deal! Too many overated stuff otu there these days.Good Marketing doesn't mean good tool. The best and most proper tools noways, are underated. I like to search for the best tools and from what I see, since you also sell Muller and probably Hultafors too, you're some of the best places in the US, to get a good axe! Actually you sell my favorite brands and axes!! Well done, keep it up!

I tried to get this nice axe a better colour and finish by bakening it whole in the owen. However, the head came loose, for the shaft shrunk a bit. I solved this problem by setting the axe head firmly by a hard stroke, mounting the axe vertically, making a wall out of placstecine, or modelling-clay around the eye. Now I poured thin, thin, laminateing Epoxy into the voids. Now the axe is firm and as NEW. Perhaps way better. The head is firmly cemented to the shaft :) What a disaster, when the axe-head came loose, haha. The handle came out extremely beatiful with a brownish colour and with a smooth flax-oil finish. They are traditionaly made at "Yx-backen" in Norrköping, Sweden. Means the Axe-Hill :) My only objection, is that the edge is not very hard, as on a Mora-Kniv, but I also understand, that this is the tradition, the edge is not meant to be extremely hard, but can be filed sharp again with a simple file. Great comparison video. HB is confusing their customers by making same axes with different names and looks. Every man needs only three axes, one hatchet 13-15" (Tarnaby, Almike or Husq) a regular Axe 20-26" 2-2.5 lbs bit (Husq Hultafor or HB Anaby or Kisa) , And a large 32" inches heavy bit 3.5 lbs like the Large Montreal Agdor. Anything could be done with these three axes, woodworking hewing hunting, log cabin building, felling, bucking camping and splitting.

Glad I got mine ( just a couple of weeks ago) without the horrendous blue paint. I want to see the natural steel.

One thing to note… Under that blue paint is a horrific finish on the steel. I removed the blue paint on one and it’s real bad. Required so much grinding and still never got down to a smooth finish. I believe it’s good marketing on their part and it’s a way of putting less finishing time into the axes. The sloppy surface imperfections just get blue paint slapped over top. I still love mine for the record and I’d buy another. Just be aware of the very rough surface being hidden by blue paint

its a hand forged axe it will have imperfections like all the other expensive Swedish axes do because it is not stamped out in a Chinese assembly line. I just got the 26" It has a thick handle for a small axe may shave it down.

It's as forged with a paint over, perfectly fine. I love both the as forged finish on there premium line and the painted Agdor line, although I don't like the price increase on the Agdor line from the standard line they discontinued. They obviously thought well do away with the standard line paint them and ad a sticker and charge more. That being said the Agdor line is one of my favorite all time axe line I bought a few and plan on getting more

Is it just me or… the blue paint just makes the HB like a tool. The original looks way better. I am not paying $200 + for a tool…. But a handcrafted beautiful tool

I am a huge fan of HB axes. I have five or six, from the arvika to smaller hatchets and splitting axes. I just bought by first agdor, the Montreal pattern. I don’t quite understand why HB is branding agdor the economy line. I would have though it would be the premium. It’s a beautiful axe and actually required the least amount of finishing of any axe I’ve ever bought. Truly impressed by it, I even think the sheath that comes with the agdor line is higher quality than the other sheath version. It has thicker leather more coverage, and a better strap. Happy to see someone covering HB! It’s an amazing company

I think they want to go back to the blue paint they had years ago. They have been calling this line Agdor for for a very long time in europe, they're exactly the same however. They will remain unpainted in europe as far as I know.

Anyone got a suggestion to buy a sheath for the 1,5 kg axe?
