Fantastic video. Great to see those skilled axe-makers so relaxed in their trade. A useful reminder, too, of the heavy machinery used in axe-making. I especially enjoyed seeing the way the hole for the handles was finished.

I have bought all of my axes at flea markets. Don't have more than $20 in any of them. I just file them, hone them, sometimes have to replace a handle. I would love a new axe, but they are way to expensive compared to buying a fixer upper.

I was in Sweden 10 Days, teaching at the 125th Anniversary Celebration at Mora Knives also visited Gransfors Bruk
@rasmusroriroror8 жыл бұрын
Cool! I was at wetterlings a couple of days back. All the axe manufacturers workshops here seem to look very similar. Was it hard to use that kind of power hammer? seems most axe smiths only use one heat to shape the head.
@DavidCanterbury8 жыл бұрын
Hults bruk has a completely different process in several ways I also toured Gransfors while in Sweden

I hate to sound like Safety Sally but it seems like they should be wearing eye protection especially around the hammers. ?? I love your channel brother, although I was very disappointed in the bushpot I recently bought, still love the videos and your willingness to share knowlege.
@DavidCanterbury8 жыл бұрын
Could you be more specific on why you were disappointed I would love to replace the pot if it was a manufacturing issue?
@SuperUncleRyan8 жыл бұрын
+wildernessoutfitters Maybe I missed it in the description somewhere but I just expected coming from your brand to be made in America. The pot will be fine. I know you gotta do what you gotta do, just a little disappointed is all. With everything going on in the world I just wish I could see more "made in USA". God bless you and yours. I'll quit complaining now. 👍
@DavidCanterbury8 жыл бұрын
Unfortunatley there are no processes in the US that do this type extrusion that is not astronomical in Cost of manufacturing, that pot would be well over 100.00 made in the US, we try to have the best products we can and use US and Euro brands when possible but it is not always Cost effective for our Customers
@SuperUncleRyan8 жыл бұрын
I guess you could say that my disappointment is not so much with your store as it is with the fact that like you say, outsorcing is the better option. I wish that weren't the case. God bless you, Iris and your business my friend.
