A lot of credit goes to Sagrika to stay quiet in front of her MIL. Based on the actions the MIL did, she did not deserve the respect that Sagrika gave her. In the beginning, Sagrika was an independent outspoken girl. Now, she is being crushed and doubts her own thoughts when her husband comes up with these idotic reasons why they should not be together. That is not independent. The writers are flip flopping between an Indian woman and England Independent Woman.
