This will always be one of the greatest songs to come out of the 90's. Not to mention.. that breakdown at 4:04 is such an epic riff!!!

+gilbert leguro .....I can't believe this masterpiece is already 20 years old !! I remember hearing this on Stern then and my head exploded. I used to think the lead singer was Microsofts Bill Gates. This song should be as big as Smells Like Teen Spirit.
@ApriliaRacer149 жыл бұрын
+ExclusiveLM Bro, you are so correct! I never got Kurt Cobain but this song should have been the mid 90s track aside from smashing pumpkins. Great music at that time with Sound Garden, Pearl Jam, etc....

Seriously, just b4 Hum hit it big, I hung with my galpal Martha on a side street in Champaign, IL and they practiced in their rented house. We could hear this song and others. Martha would say, "Hum. You heard of 'em?", a rhyme like that. I'd say, "No." She'd say, "You will. You will." She was dead right. Within a year, this song dropped like a water bomb! Thanks, Hum.

It was a different live clip, but someone put it better than I ever could in a comment - "The drummer hits those drums like they owe him money." Not the only explosive track on this record, the whole thing is gold.

I guess I never realized how much impact this song/band had on many people. I remember when it first came out, I loved it, but at that time people were more into nine inch nails Marilyn Manson smashing pumpkins etc, but I always knew there was something special about his song.

That bridge riff is seriously one of the greatest of all time. To this day, I judge rhythm guitar players based on whether or not they can play that cleanly.

@tambore78 Take it easy, man, they're not geeks. They're just dads. Their kids were conceived to this song after drinking a big cheap bottle of chianti with their girlfriends - the ones with the little finger holder and the grass - talking about wanting to drive down the coast to Portland later in the summer.

People can enjoy music however they wish. Just because you think everyone should be throwing up improper devil horns and making sure their Tripp pants are in constant motion doesn't mean people being still are doing something wrong.
