I was an AI and tech product manager at GE Software and Oracle, and currently make videos on how AI actually works behind the scenes. What this video is saying is very possible. And can get very scary. Right now AI is already screening resumes before you talk to a human being at large companies. Some employers already demanded that interviewees log into their Facebook accounts as part of the interviews but thankfully got in trouble for doing that. For them to have the power to have AI scour the internet and “score” a candidate is a horrible prospect. China already does that for social control purposes-a dystopian system. Regarding entertainment vs learning, that’s not as big of a problem in general, thankfully. The problem is when individuals abuse the power of AI agents for nefarious purposes, which is certain to happen and needs to be safeguarded against, which will be a constant battle. Just look at the constant battle against spam and scams today. Those problems will get worse. So people need to start advocating for safeguards and privacy measures that will keep people safe in an increasingly AI world.

You describe a future with no privacy. Be broadcasted or be invisible. Very scary stuff.

You’re right. The safest approach is to be very thoughtful about what you make public. Being your authentic self can be risky, being your “marketing” self and projecting a thoughtful image of who you want the world to see is safer. Even now that is wise.

Some good points but mostly bleak. Im an ai optimist with my eyes wide open. There are two challenges for me, 1. A lack of gov and local direction of regulation bc they believe they're in a race to be the best. Space race anyone? We saw where that ended up. 2. Open source... Anyone with capability, with good or bad intentions now has access to the best models to manipulate and inject. It's a classic IT thing where they've just turned it on without real die considerations. Now we're on the ride and can't get off 😅

This basically describes a dystopic corporate nightmare. Everything you will do will be performance art for your next job. You can’t be your authentic full self if you always feel like someone is always watching.

Ai's checking Ai's reminds alot of how bitcoin confirmations happening in mining to check that YES that was the correct amount sent (but in this case be YES that is the most correct answer found on the parameters given thus far)

Rather than us all having to adopt obnoxious influencer styles, is there not a more efficient way to share my personal info with AI? I like the idea of a company as a knowledge graph. Maybe a human personality is similar and can be broken down into a simple json of likes, dislikes, wants and dreams? I really do not want to have to have a KZbin channel, a blog, an instagram, snapchat etc, etc, etc!

The safest approach is to cultivate a “personal brand” online and be very thoughtful about what you make public. Your “marketing” self and projecting a thoughtful image of who you want the world to see is probably going to be more productive than having every kind of social media account. And less time consuming. Even now that is wise.

@@TheThinkersBible - I am afraid that i disagree with you on this. Marketing is a red herring. Personal celebrity is a problem not a solution. Consensus and compromise are much more important.

@@christopherd.winnan8701 personal brand is not personal celebrity. You already have a personal brand -- it's how people think of you and it's what comes into peoples' minds when they hear your name. You also already have a marketing persona. It's the side of yourself you show at work, in the presence of strangers who don't know you, etc. You're already doing what I'm describing, whether or not you're intentional about it. Just like you have to do at work -- you have to show your best self to your boss, to customers, to executives like the boss' boss who visits your workplace, etc. You don't show the "beer hall" part of yourself when the big boss arrives to do an inspection, or when you're engaging with a customer, etc. And you didn't show the "beer hall" side of yourself during your job interview, the side only your close friends and family ever see. That's what I mean.

@@christopherd.winnan8701 unfortunately KZbin ate my original response to your comment but here's an abbreviated version.... You already have a marketing persona. It's the persona you showed your employer during your job interview. You didn't show your "beer hall" persona then, the one only your family and close friends see. Likewise on your job when the big boss visits, to customers if you work with customers, you present your best self. Again, you're already doing (somewhere in your interactions with other people) what I said is wise to do. That's all I mean.

We are simply to driven to be social creates "its innate" that we enjoy bouncing ideas off co-workers over coffee in the break room etc. Thus there is no chance of a single person billion dollar company. That being said I know with my research these past two years it is a very realistic idea yet more likely to be a 2 person billion dollar company verus one.
@TheThinkersBible
@TheThinkersBible 21 сағат бұрын
That makes sense. Or maybe a partnership between 2 one-person companies. Also, just because you have a one-person company doesn’t mean you have no interactions with other people directly or even in person.
