An easy solution to data getting corrupted is simply copying the data locally before sending just so that the data transfer can be aborted if needed.
@Braddick1232 жыл бұрын
I mean, we already have error checking implemented into data transfer protocols. And this is for, like, loading a web page. If we were sending actual human beings via data stream I'd imagine that would be several times more stringent.

yeah, that's my take. I can buy into the crazy story up until the regeneration with memory loss and the idea that they could do a scan with laser light or whatever and let them go home is so preposterous. As always, a great choice of Movie, and another superb essay/breakdown. SFC is easily one of the best if not THE best Movie channel. This movie was slightly too drawn out and maybe slow at times. However, I give it a solid 9/10 for both the plot, the acting, and it's originality. For once, this was a decent SCI-FI movie which didn't steal or borrow parts and ideas from other movies. The acting was very good, and it was easy to get into thanks to a pretty decent cast. Daniel MacPherson who played Whit Carmichael, gave a top notch performance. I digress. Thanks Science Fiction Club. Have a really awesome day one and all.

Hard to spend extra time building up to the final plot if you want the ending twist to remain a surprise 🤷♂️ Considering the budget and the use of pretty much newish actors for leading roles, I’d say they managed a pretty good movie 👍🏻 The ending is designed to make you reflect on everything you’ve already seen, exactly the same as the organism did, which in turn explains both the ending twist, and the direction of the movie up until that points. Basically that the violence itself was pointless, I’d say that this ending tie’s thing’s up rather nicely. By reflecting back over the movie, you’re basically seeing everything from the organisms prospective, asking yourself if you’d have come to the same conclusion 🤷♂️

So.. everyone is worried the alien substance might have copied the original five, but no one is askin if the "data stream" that gets reconstructed counts as a copy of the original data or as the original data? It's the old transporter paradox.. do you die when you get deconstructed and does there appear a copy of you when itget's reconstructed, or are you the same al the way through? The second thing I have problems with is the implant that is able to store an entire persons make-up and is not able to see any discrepancies compared to previous data when it would be a copy made by an alien substance? This is just a silly movie with a weak plotline that tried too hard to be edgy whilst at the same time trying to be a horror sci-fi. Unfortunately the cheap cgi ruins the experience to often for it to really work. The acting is mediocre at best and Nicholas Cage absurd at its worst. Ok, ok.. It's not bad. It's just not that good either...

@@ApocGuy Tbh, I think the most important thing to being human is the mind in a very loose sense. The meat suit is just a peripheral to us at this point, convenient, but if you base humanity on what meat you have, well... It only causes problems. Are people with certain genetics sub/inhuman? Missing limbs? All of these are questions which most would probably agree are less important at the end of the day. To be human is to be an evolving idea, with so many permutations that it may as well include anything else which can think like us. In a strict sense, they're not homo sapiens, but human, possibly.
