Hello Scott, thank you for sharing this video. You did a great job at explaining what the FAA dirty dozen human factors are. Would you be ok with me using this video as part of my company’s internal training as well? Also, I am very interested in what you were saying in another comment about Sidney Dekker’s book “Field guide to Human Error.” Is there a way I could contact you to get more info about this? Thank you.

I don’t mind, but the dirty dozen is considered to be pseudo science, or methodology not supported by research. The dirty dozen is very much a behavior based safety model.

Hello Scott, I'm preparing human factor training for my organization and I would be very grateful if you would agree to let me use your video in it. What you think about it?

I have no problem if you share it. However, I made this video a long time ago. Since then, I have been educated and realized that the Dirty Dozen are a form of behavior based training that points the finger at the worker. If you truly want to understand human error, start with Sidney Dekker’s book Field guide to Human Error. Stay away from the Dirty dozen, unless you are using it as an example of what not to do!
