Well Stig, for what it's worth on my part, the longer and more detailed and technical, the better. There are plenty of channels on KZbin for just watching aircraft, but I think that pretty much all of us are here for the technical aspect of things because we not only find beauty in watching them but we also see just as much if not more beauty in how they work and function so if the result of that is long videos then I genuinely think the longer the better... For example, I started watching this at gone 3.30 am and I am absolutely glued to the screen still and I will honestly be watching it all again tomorrow too.

5:11 thank you for saying this stig. I get so many people that immediately Irk when I tell them the Cessna I fly was built in 1970. I wish more people would realize that these aircraft are under strict regulations that allows them to still fly even after 50 years. People should understand that most of the small planes and even small private jets they see are most likely from before 2000 yet they still fly because of the FAAs regulation on Maintenance and Manufacturing. Its also why everything in Aviation is so expensive.

My C141 B was built in 1961. I met it in 1979. Very little broke down on it. Commercial aircraft would rush maintenance and go get the money. USAF took our time and fixed it right. I hope more people like you work on the planes.

Another fantastic video! I can tell you something about the Ferraris. The grey Ferrari racecar is a FXX-K Evo, it is based on the LaFerrari. The XX stand for the Ferrari XX Program wich is for research and development of all their race cars. The connector on the rear is for the Air Jack. When you connect air to it the car jacks it self up. And you're not wrong about the Dino, it is a Ferrari. Dino was a "low cost" brand from Ferrari between 57 and 76. It was named after Enzo Ferrari's son Alfredo (nicknamed Dino), who sadly died very young. The two covered Ferrari 499P's are really special, those are Le Mans Hypercars. 😍 It's insane how much value was standing here around. Alone the Ferraris are a couple of Million Dollars. But like you said "cargo never disappoints" 😀

Those supercars were all going to the 24-hour of LeMans for the June 2024 event. I put two and two together after searching the covered Ferraris that you showed those were called 499P and they are LeMans cars and three of those were at the LeMans event for racing. There aren't many so chances are high that those are the exact cars that went to LeMans and the other cars went there for show, because it's a multi-day event

Lmaoooo when he said you can change a nose tire when the nose is at full turn i lost it because ive had to do that before. I was in the Air Force and was a KC-10A FCC. Had to do a nose tire on TDY. They didnt send a jack with the tire and the Airfield didnt have a jack sufficient for a 10. 🤷🏾‍♂️ lmaooo sometimes inconvenient times call for irregular methods. DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU HAVE THE EQUIPMENT TO DO IT PROPERLY LMAO Its was during the height of Covid and we had just came from Thailand, where we were on lockdown in our hotel the entire time. Had been on that trip for a week and a half and we were over it. We wanted to get home by any means necessary lol not having a jack did not stop us. Would "never" *wink* do that again lol

Great videos! I appreciate your efforts to explain line maintenance, my chosen career path that lasted 52-years. Hopefully, your videos are inspiring young guys and gals thinking about an aviation career. If I could make a suggestion: explain what the acronyms you use mean. MEL-able or BITE are meaningless to industry outsiders. As everyone can tell from your enthusiasm, line maintenance is a fun job. I was always happy at work. Alaska made a big mistake getting out of the Airbus business.

You're more than welcome, my friend. I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but another fun fact about those FFX's. You buy it, but Ferrari keeps it and then delivers it to whatever track you want along with mechanics and support staff and then when you're done, Ferrari take it back to the factory and service it etc ready for next time you want to drive it. How the other half live right... 🤣

Just to add to Kev‘s comment… Over the weekend of the 15th through the 20th, Laguna Seca up near Monterey, California had Ferrari racing days, which is where these cars are shipped to so that the owners can drive them on a race track. I’m guessing they’re getting flown home to the factory to get maintained and ready for their next on track adventure, somewhere else in the world

On the FXX the "What is that" "probe" at the tail is where you attach an air line for the onboard air jacks The Dino is a Ferrari. Enzo named it after his son, after Dino passed away at a young age. The engine was designed by Dino, as well. It's the only Ferrari without Ferrari badging.

Hi Stig. I must say you are such a professional with the most tips and aircraft information I have ever seen. I have seen several of your fantastic videos and my dog Daisy, a mini Aussie loves the sounds of jet engines and everything aviation. It is calming to her and I really am glued to the tv whenever I watch your videos. Keep the lengthy sections as one and not into 3 sections as it would be harder to get the real picture of what is going on. I love the long video's Stig! I also cringed when I saw that nose tire raising off the ground in turn. Thats what I like to call suicide insects, they made their mark on that aircraft. I did not give that hose permission to fall off, get er back on Stig lol. Yeah, that sensor is wacked, no way breaks are 700C, they be on fire if it were LMAO! That Alaskan A321-Neo is a cool plane, it will cost money to renovate it though. Nice supercar! Your right, that gear tire is bald, Stig gonna replace it, yeah buddy. HAHA, my safety wire Stig, thats what I'm gonna call ya, you so funny lol. That 787 is a power hog ha? Dude, those cables look like they are 0-gauge, huge! Emergency equipment is important. @stig the airplane guiding system works like a triangle. If you look to the aviso bridge there has to be a small white reflector plate, the mirror sends a lightbeam in a tri-angle to the plane-reflextor-guiding box. When the light beam is getting smaller and smaller when the plane approaches the system knows where it is. That's why the mirror in the box is moving and sends light beams.

-You made me tear up with your Memorial Day tribute. Thank you for taking the time to do that. Those who gave their lives in service of our nation deserve our reverence. The Flagship Valor aircraft is absolutely striking and very fitting! -The USAF is still flying aircraft which could have been built before many of us were born! So nobody should worry about age! -Birdstrike story: Touch and go in IMC (instrument conditions, see low clouds) practicing instrument approaches. We hit a flock of ducks and had to make an emergency landing back to the field. Every leading edge on the aircraft was damaged including the radome and the sheet metal above it. We were at 2000 miles from home, so the squadron had to truck parts from the boneyard to our location so that it could be repaired. It was a mess. That aircraft was down for weeks. -Question: 13:14 A321, what is that port on the inboard side on the #1 engine with a bit of smoke coming out? My first thought was a bleed dump. How close am I? -Curious as to why the nose tires aren't required to be changed in pairs... I would think that the tire diameter difference would cause high speed steering pull.
@StigAviation
@StigAviation 5 ай бұрын
The pipe that you’re seeing is a breather vent tube that extrudes oil gases from the gearbox. And I believe I explained in the video why I chose to change only one, the difference between the diameter was 1/32 of an inch, not enough to create steering pull.
